Or here's an option, foam insulation to close your attic all together. I'm thinking about doing this if its not too expensive, because it just sounds like an obvious solution. Heck I'm ready to splurge and get my whole house insulated with foam.

So I drive by Darth Vader's house, that's what my kids call it, on the corner of Buffalo Speedway and University, and there is temporary fencing around it. Like its going to be demolished. Anyone know what's going on?

Architects according to the chron article is Lake/Flato. No wonder I like it.

Thank god the Mcdonald's is being demo'd. It was a piece of crap! I remember they made such a big deal about it when they built it, so cutting edge, but it was a total failure. Hopefully the new one will be quite a bit nicer and be a bit more UH themed.

That's freaking stupid of the builder! Isn't the first thing you do when you buy a lot is get a survey done with the set backs? Crazy!

I would love to know more about Mr. Hunt and perhaps learn of some of his other buildings in the region. One of the district's claims is that they do not have original plans for the building.
Who cares? My first job was doing plans for built out buildings. They could easily hire someone to make blueprints for them for whatever they need them for. Its just a cheap excuse. But I will say that its probably cheaper to demo the building, rather than make it ADA compliant, do lead/asbestos abatement, make it properly insulated, etc, etc.

I have a memory from the early 90s of my sister taking me to a Pappadeaux near the intersection of Kirby and Bissonnet. I know there's one nearby near Kirby and Richmond, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that one. If my memory serves me correctly, the Wachovia Bank stands on that site now.
Does that sound familiar to anyone?
I don't remember one there. I used to be a Mexican restaurant then a Tortuga's.

Its just down the mega sewage complex that the COH built up stream. So what's the big deal?

Love the office building. I could live in that. Who says a house has to look like a house?

I see pex in new construction all the time. Especially in town home construction.

Hong Kong City Mall is great. Lots of cool stuff to see and eat.

At least they're trying something different.

When can you come to my house and fix it up?

Do they build also or are they just an architectural firm?

JMH is still abandoned. But they did have a West U Elementary "garage sale" in there last weekend. The old auto mechanic shop is closed and I heard the owner of the property is trying to get the city to rezone it for something like a restaurant. There is so much potential there if someone would just have some freaking vision. Every weekend that area is packed with Little League, Softball, Soccer, boy scouts, and people just hanging out using the West U Elementary's playgrounds, that there has got to be a better use of that strip.

One thing I don't like about bamboo is that its all super processed and the fake sheen like laminate does. But it is a solid wood flooring.

Yup, went to few great parties and ate at the restaurant up on the top floor when it was the Innova building. Freaking fantastic building before it was converted to an office building.

moo, kinda boring.

Meaning that people shouldn't care about anything less than the biggest aesthetic issues?
Meaning they should channel their energy elsewhere. Its like getting on someone to mow their yard when the whole house is an eyesore.

Go real or go home!

Houston has bigger aesthetic issues than billboards.

The Black Lab has Wifi, but is it still considered the Museum district?

Yup, spring break, took my kids to HMNS and Children's Museum. It was crazy! Took 30 minutes just to find parking! But had a great time, weather was perfect and we also went to Herman Park and just soaked up the scenery. HMNS needs to hurry up and start that expansion because they could really use it! Still the kids had a great time, they're used to being around crowds, like at school.
We Are Still Looking! Why Is Sugar Land So Hard?

I think people confuse Sugar Land with First Colony. First Colony is the reason Sugar Land is so popular, they set up restrictions on the look of houses and buildings and set up a tight pseudo zoning plan for their development. And lo and behold people flocked there. When you leave their sphere of influence, you can tell because the commercial building start looking like Houston's, and there isn't a cohesiveness like there is in First Colony. This is easy to see when driving down HW6 from say Bellaire Blvd to where Sienna is.
