i drove past the ES site tonight and didnt see anything resembling a building was planned. there were cars parked all over the lot. no fences blocking it off or anything. unless i was looking at the wrong lot, which i doubt.
i guess they havent done anything yet.

thats really no surprise to me, i never seen anyone go in or out of the endeavour condo highrise. i think we all saw this coming

For a fairly new member, you sure do make a big impact.
On par with member ChannelTwoNews.
i agree, photolitherland's pictures are spot on awesome. my props to you

The pyramid shape was chosen for its strength against hurricane-force winds.
Apparently Ike was a good test. I don't think they had any structural damage to the Moody Gardens pyramids, but I understand the Rainforest pyramid did suffer flood damage. I assume the flood damage is unrelated to the shape of the structure.
that makes perfect since to me since the triangle is the strongest shape of shapes

From this image, which lot will this be built on? The one to the right of the electrical thing that is sort of curved??
the curved lot is the lot i always assumed it would be.
at the beginning of this thread someone posted this from the chron. even though HP is in the wrong place i believe the embassy suites is correct

those are some really good pictures, thanks to your "big camera" getting you as close as you did
is it just me or is it a little odd that the only pictures really surfacing on the embassy suites are the same hand drawn rendering? wouldnt you think they would have a computer generated rendering instead at the groundbreaking?

They live in/under the Waugh bridge that crosses the bayou. Ever notice the stink? Also, you can hear them in there.
ooh ok, well im hardly ever down on allen parkway and in the waugh area but thats cool to know. i never knew there were bats there =]
-
The bats usually come out around 8:30 but, be over there at 8:05 just in case.
where do the bats actually come from there on the bayou?

Here's to hoping the La Quinta breaks ground soon too as well as the other larger convention center hotel project.
what La Quinta project? im not sure that ive heard of that.
-
ground breaking was today! i wish i could have been there

I think I'm still surprised to hear how little effort businesses (especially restaurants) exert to get their waste recycled.
But at least someone out there is willing to physically do the collection of glass.
i agree, every time i go to a restaurant or a bar and see the bottles piling up in the trash, i cringe knowing those bottles should be recycled =/
-
yeah i was down there a few weeks back and that area is really starting to take shape, its good to see =]

i agree, look how we have done without T-mac.what was our biggest downfall this post season?
not a big man to put in once yao was out for the rest of the season. the rox looked good, just need to free salary for another big man in the middle to help yao share the load. i say hit the road t-mac

isnt there already a topic about the patrios by the lake somewhere on here?

Keep in mind that the Rockets have NO picks in the 2009 NBA draft....and luxury tax issues.
that is something i did not know humph.

Do y'all think Yao would've been injured if Deke hasn't had his career-ending injury early in the playoffs? He could've taken some of Yao's minutes and maybe mitigated his risk of injury.
I dont know, thats a good question. It definitely should have helped. but i think it is the fault of the rockets for knowing how frail yao's feet are and having a 42 yr old back up just in case something happens to yao. you know?
we should have had a younger center as a back up as well.
we'd be unstoppable if we had the twin towers effect (robinson/duncan or olajuwon/sampson)
who knows. one can dream again

Rock on! I am almost surprised it happened so soon in this economy.
i agree! Im surprised as well but totally excited =]
