I know some of the people that work at the Meyer Park apartments and they told me that the Wal-mart is going to be remodeled and not upgraded to a supercenter. As far as the Randalls they believe it is going to stay and yes of course there will be Kohl's

What is going on with Congress St. just north of the Ballet Bldg? They've ripped out the bridge.
Isn't this area between the Ballet building and the bayou where the Boyle Hotel once stood?

Great idea, linicinco. Baldwin Park perhaps? Settegast? Emanicpation?
There is very little that could be done to Baldwin Park without removing some of the trees and that would be devastating in the least.
I vote for the super block in Midtown or where the old YMCA now sits.
As for the super block, that would be somethin. Great location along the lightrail with a station. That would be a good sized park, and there would be a lot of things you could do with it

Nice of you to bring this thread from the dormant dead Jax lol

Going to miss Shane's horrible singing performances lol
should be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't think 8th seed playoffs is outa the question. Never know.

Dbigtex, take a look at the rendeirng, I might be overly optimistic but I am pretty sure that the "Fine Arts Center in Existing Building" at the bottom right of the page is indeed the Settegast Estate building you are talking about.
Im 100 percent sure you are right DrLan34, the Settegast Estate building is the exact shape, size and dimensions as showed on the rendering. That would be awesome for them to be able to preserve part of history and give it a nice face lift

I take it that the eating table is outside? I understand the meaning of these micro houses but seriously...Could you be any more extreme? I am all for recycling absolutely everything and anything possible. reducing what we use, the whole nine yards. But this is just crazy. Definitely not a house for raising children in. Lord help them if they do

A lot of people are posting great multiple burger places.
but if you could only have one final burger before your tumultuous end,
Where would you get it from and what would be on it?

Anyone been to Sparkle's Hamburger Spot on Dowling? The best and beefiest (10 oz pattie) burger anywhere in town for about 4 dollars (and thats with cheese). Its fantastic.

Welcome to HAIF sharonmiz. This post may be best in the Greater Northwest subforum for Cypress since it is a small project on the outskirts of town.

Come on really? Is this what it has come to?
I mean, I understand yes....the Rockets suck, the Astros suck, the Texans suck. We get it.
I enjoy playin air hockey, dont get me wrong.
But even with our conventional sports in the drain, are we really going to call air hockey a sport?
Anyways if I was Houston I think I'd be quite hesitant to put Mecca of Air Hockey on my resume to the world.
It's a cool thing to know, just not something I'd shout on top of a roof top lol

I think this project is alive again.
You gotta give us more info than what seems like a hunch lockmat lol
Whats got you thinking its back?

Those would actually make it more humid. Misting Stations work best in hot arid cities like Vegas or Phoenix which is lacking moisture. They should add col air station to simulate a cool breeze on a hot humid day.
I dont understand how it would make it more humid. The human body releases sweat to cool down the body, so why would an artificial "sweat" such as a misting station not be a great idea for jogging/walking trails and parks. Events that do have misting stations during the summer are huge hits. They really don't use a great deal of water, can't be any more than a water fountain. Especially if they were created like a push sink knob where it is activated for a certain amount of time.
I don't know, I think it would be awesome. lol
Entrepreneurs, get on it!

Houston parks really ought to have Misting Stations. Hit the button and get 30 seconds of mist, especially for those really hot humid days. Just a thought lol

3,000 feet of new trail this summer and more work starting in fall.
This is an awesome article. Makes me really excited for the future of Houston. I hope it all works out exactly as it is layed out.

Can anyone take pictures of the statues that are being mentioned? I am curious as to what they added and where. Haven't been able to make it down that way in some time =/
-
Well they succeeded in making Luby's a "stand alone" luby's by completely disconnecting it from the Randalls side of the strip center. lol

I like the color of it come autumn it will look awesome with the leaves changing.

GID Urban Development, the developers of Regent Square also have a similar project going on in Atlanta, called High Street.
All I gotta say is, I'm a little jealous. But I guess only for the reason that theirs has more height and the picture of the plaza area with the convexed area looks sweet.

Thoughts?
yeaahhh jealous. crap

Yeah, originally, my browser at work didn't show any messages beyond 952. Made me look like an idiot. (Sigh).
His post was #966. It wasn't meant to make you look like an idiot, just to let you know that it was already posted by a different user.
