  1. Obviously you haven't visited Bracewell & Giuliani LLP in South Tower Pennzoil Place, 23rd floor.
  2. I have lived in San Francisco. I have visited all major metro areas. I still love my Houston - warts and all. You think it is better and the grass is greener in other cities, well, go on, move. Make yourself happy. But think about this: when you move out of Houston, probably 10 people move in. There are many big cities in America. There are a few great ones. Houston is one of the great ones. There is so much to do and with the cost of living very reasonable, I can't think of one reason why I would leave. Of course, I hate cold weather, so that leaves out the north.
  3. I moved to Houston in 1972. I too have seen Westheimer transitioned from lower Westheimer to Hwy 6. I'm with ya. Luv ya Westheimer.
  4. I love the Orion. I hope both of the towers are built. What a beautiful place to live and who doesn't LOVE River Oaks? I think the towers will compliment each other. Can you imagine the views? Maybe I should take on a second job.
  5. The store in the Rice was really nice, but too small and did not offer what a regular small grocery can. I think this will work.
  6. Reading all the well wishers and responses from the great people of Houston to kz is a gentle reminder of why I think Houston and its people create one great city. I, too, like summers in Houston. I love the blue water in the pool and the bar-b-que in the back yard.
  7. I think the San Antonio - Austin area could very well support the NFL. I won't say that N.O. will go there, but in the future, it would be AWESOME to have that third Texans NFL team. I love the local rivalries. Dall-Hou SA-Hou SA-Dall etc.
  8. The drive from downtown on Memorial is great. I love going thru Memorial Park to Uptown. It's really "Uptown"! At any rate, Dallas and Houston are great cities. Love 'em both. It's us (Texans) against them (outstaters).
  9. I think the downtown one. You know, a lot of people hate that building. But it takes me back to 1972 when I moved to Houston. That building was 44 stories tall and from a small town young man, the skyline was awesome and that building will always remind me of Houston. Something about it made the skyline, at that time, distinctive. At any rate, a nice makeover will be good.
  10. I think the phone was originally inside the loop at the Galleria (Westheimer?). Now the building is an upscale hotel I believe. Sorry for 2 posts.

  12. texasboy, those pics are awesome. I particularly like the Midtown ones and some that appear to be in the Montrose. Also, you captured the old courthouse area with some great shots. Thanks for sharing. There certainly weren't too many pics. Great job. Come back to see us real soon.
