It appears they will be keeping the front section of bayou place. . Which could actually work out for places like hard rock if they shift to say green st or along the new dallas corridor higher visbity..I never noticed how much bayou place back in broke up the flow of the street...

I always thought they should move to Greenstreet.

That tower looks like a sim city tower.

Sorry for bumping this but I'm in downtown Indianapolis and we just walked by this circle fountain/central square type area with a big monument and fountains in the middle and it got me thinking of this thread. Why can't Houston build a monument thing like this to itself in the middle of an intersection in downtown, maybe towards the southeast or northeast side of the cbd. Somewhere currently surrounded by vacant blocks so they have room to build the circle and spur development on the 4 blocks around it/that part of downtown.

please htown live, after reading your account, i feel as though i have died and evolved straight into heaven.

3x count prospective luxury hotels along the planned dallas street retail corridor.

It would be silly to say our western skyline view is anything but our signature. The closest view to it is the south view on I-45. There is a reason these views are shown most. Cliche and tired? Maybe... The other views are great too and to me also sometimes more interesting. But when I picture downtown I immediately picture the western view.

I like the view coming in on 288.

Maybe this will be the new standard view.

I'm so glad to see the hotel kick-started.  I was worried that if it were put off then it would never get done.  Downtown still needs more hotel spaces, and this is a perfect location.  The proximity of the assorted civic booster organizations in the office section makes sense too, since presumably they host a number of out-of-town visitors.  The only other thing this building needs is a major restaurant on the ground floor!

Dang we still need more!? Lol
