I think people hate the Texas theme because the theme always represents one ethnic group - Caucasian (example: a white cowboy and a western theme.), when Texas is more diverse than that. If you ask someone from outside of Texas what race is depicted in the representation of Texas or what race do they think of when it comes to they're idea of Texas, I'll bet they would say white, which is why I dislike the theme. The theme should be more international and diverse to represent all of us.

It would've been cool if they didn't have the back part, looks less sleek; still a nice building.

Odd-looking

I, too, like the old buildings - makes for a good mix. Makes no sense to demo these old beauties. Houston is not desperate for space.

I think the building will look nice. Calm down guys.

That was mean.

The building is boxy, but it's cute.

You don't have to be such a jerk about it. If they aren't taking the building down a piece at a time, then what is the purpose of the crane? It certainly looks like the building is shorter than it was originally. Dang, lighten up and stop being so serious and stern about construction. If I made a mere mistake, make a polite comment or correction and keep it moving. Wow.

Why are they dismantling this building to build a new one? As if Houston is running out of space. Stupid.

Can't even see it from afar.

Looks like it will be thin and wedge-like, cool.

Thank you, H-Town Man. That's all I was saying.

Calm down.

In the name of Sam Houston? Corny. I was speaking of high rise residential and office development.

Of all the space downtown, why are developers honing in on a particular section? Southeast downtown is begging for development.
-
They should've built one tall building on less land. Wow!

Please, no more boxes!

Another boring, banal box. When will this end?

Trying to figure out what they're doing to Marriott. Seems like they are covering, recovering, and rerecovering the exterior for an eternity.

The ac units are highly visible to the tenants who live there and want to go sit on the balcony and chill, which is what matters. They may not want to hear the hummm of the ac unit while on their balconies. That's not a cute look, especially for entertaining.

Another box that resembles the boxes they're about to erect downtown. I like the original rendering more.
