Randall Davis has cancelled plans to build Titan, a 25-story luxury condo tower set for Post Oak Boulevard, because of the economic crisis.

With all the different tracking models out there, I asked myself which one was the most reliable. I came across this article describing the differences in the models. It says the GFDL is most accurate. Currently, that model is showing a track towards Galveston.

Understanding the different hurricane models

I was completely unaware that Houston was planning a proposal for the 2020 Expo. The website attached says that the bids will be placed in 2011 and that New York, San Francisco and Manilla (Philippines) are putting bids together as well. The event lasts 3 months and usually attracts millions of visitors. Unfortunetly, the United States has not hosted one in many years. Montreal, Lisbon, Vancouver, Seattle and Seville are just a few of the past host cities. Expo 2008 is currently being held in Zaragoza, Spain where 6 million visitors are projected.

Finally a condominium tower with some character. So many are built as a plain boring box (i.e. the Riverway project). Plus this tower will look great anchoring the northern end of Post Oak.
