At night the back of this building is pretty cool looking, it is all glass on the backside, and you can see into the building.
haha...as much as I hate to admit it, I look in the windows when I drive by there at night too. The only reason I do is because the people who own these lofts have done a great job on the insides. They are really cool and trendy looking.

Chilis still not open?
Nope, I drove by yesterday, still not open. They need to hurry up!

Heck yeah it is, it was Bentley and Lamborghini central today.

From the website:
Houston (Post Oak)
Whole Foods Market
Post Oak & San Felipe
Houston, TX
78,000 sq. ft.
Relocation. Opening date to be announced.
Does "Relocation" mean they are closing another store? Half the stores on the site have this while the other half just say the "opening date to be announced" part. Can anybody in the biz elaborate?

I have to agree with Jax, until you see them in person it is hard to describe how impressive they are. Photos do not do them justice.

In this weeks Houston Press they have an ad for American Apparel and it says "Downtown Location Coming Soon." Now that the Pavilions is going up they are finally going to get this done!!
-
The Chronicle is reporting that Clinton has accepted an invitation to a debate in Houston on Feb. 28. Now they just have to wait and see if Obama will accept. This would be great exposure for the city!

Last night was the first night I believe. I didn't think anything could look worse than clear Christmas lights but the red ones do the job!
-
When I drove by yesterday it looked they were working on the area around the heads. I know for sure they were painting the bases a darker grey color. So maybe there is hope!

The new red christmas lights on the JP Morgan tower don't help the situation...

Not to mention right across the street from South Texas College of Law...

And one downtown in the Park Shops. I eat there at least 3x a week. It is great!

I saw them too as I was coming into downtown off I-10. They REALLY look out of place! It does look like a mini Mt. Rushmore. (Even though I like highway 6's Mt. RushHour name better!)

I know the building you are talking about and I had been wondering the same thing. Looks like a match based on the rendering.

They started putting up the connecting walkway bridges this weekend. Looks pretty impressive. I was in a hurry or I would have taken some pics. I will try to get some this week.

Sounds like they need to check their facts on a couple of things in that article...
Other than that it is great news!

Thanks for the update RegentSquare! I am excited about the project but am also curious about how well the hotel portion will do. While the I am sure the residential/retail will be a hit, not so sure about how much traffic a hotel would get.
-
That would be sweet. I don't even ice skate but I sure as heck would go check it out.

lol @ Vertigo.
And btw, HPD showed up in under 10 mins!

My friends who got held up at gunpoint this Tuesday night while going to Howl at the Moon said the two guys told them "god bless you" after they took all my friends money. At least these guys are thankful...
-
Wow, thanks for the info. Pretty interesting statistics.

We went to this place on Tuesday night for our end of semester party. It was a lot of fun and is really a nice bar. They have done a nice job. The only drawback was some of our friends got held up at gun point right around the block as they were walking in.

I had lunch today at the Park Shops and there were tons of younger kids with t-shrits on from different schools so somehthing had to be going on at GRB. The UT basketball team was eating there too and I saw a couple of them buying stuff at the Radio Shack in there. (every little bit helps to boost downtown merchants!) And I also saw the Macy's bags all over the place so it looks like they had a good weekend too.
