Insipid architecture...

Even still, that prospect is very possible and has me salivating at the mouth to dream of one day seeing my city so dense.
/happy rant
It may one day be that dense, but I doubt you will be alive to see it...

I'm curious, why are developers constantly tearing down existing properties that generate positive revenue before they have secured financing for a replacement development?
The previous Regent Square renderings were great, but they were probably overly ambitious even before the Great Recession and tightening of credit.

Probably buttressing to add stability to the turbines.
I hate seeing that ridiculous crown on top of Embassy Suites.

The field level is less depressed than I was expecting...

Commenters on the chron.com site seemed to view this title as a negative representation of our "sanctuary city" status, amongst other racist and anti-immigrant drivel...

Top Golf is a lot of fun, particularly with groups.

"Redstone CEO Steve Lerner says it was always his vision to build a “crown jewel” in the heart of the Galleria."
Too bad his vision will not become a reality...

Seems smart to me.
Not having a symbol of energy efficiency on top of your building sounds better than having a turbine fall off of Hess Tower and kill someone, with the liability and bad publicity that entails.

Perry isn't even popular in Texas, so I don't see how he could possibly be elected President of the United States, particularly with the post-Bush hangover still lingering.

Editor, posting on HAIF with the iPad 2 does not work for me. The webpage closes when I try to enter text. Is there a fix?

Dallas vs. Houston stuff is so lame. Brings out the adolescent behavior.

I saw it last week... definitely a lot of H-town scenes. Thought it was funny how they included some scenes with Reunion Center in Dallas.
The movie is like "2001: A Space Odyssey" with less plot. I would skip it. Or rent it.

Instantly horrible views for all the residents facing that thing...

Having been inside the Prudential building, I can say it was just unworkable. Very narrow hallways, small rooms, small bathrooms, low ceilings, funny odor. And, personally, I didn't find the exterior very beautiful either.
I'm not a huge fan of all the pink-hues of MDA. I would like to see something modern and tall in that location.
I did like the architecture of the old YMCA though.

Appears to be on the site of TWU's old air control tower-esque building that Methodist acquired a couple years ago...

Parking within the TMC core is extremely profitable. Standard TMC rates get to $12 at just over 2 hours, which is as long as any doctor visit takes in the TMC. I'm sure MD Anderson will add a new building on the site with a large garage. Hopefully they integrate the adjacent rail stop thoughtfully.

Idiots who refuse to believe Obama wasn't born in Hawaii will never be convinced by mere facts...

And, of course, they forgot to promote that the Ruggles Green will have fantastic, up close views of... an electrical substation.

I predict HSR will not happen in Texas in my lifetime (I'm 28). Our state and country are in the midst of a debt crises and our state's conservative leaders will never agree to the high costs (ie. requiring new revenue streams) of HSR.
Makes more sense in higher density East Coast and California.

Chicago has an awesome skyline. I personally nominate San Antonio as the largest city with a completely boring skyline.

Your right, let's tax the hell out of the rich, or for that matter, let's raise taxes on everybody. That will increase revenue and it seems like the perfect time to do it. Everyone knows that to increase revenue/spur on the economy you MUST raise taxes.
I don't see how that was a response to any of my statements, seeing as how you counter arguments I did not make...

I think Texas would probably get an "F" on funding of anything if the appropriate "Blue Ribbon" panel looked into it, be it education, transportation, health care... and that is before the coming $23 billion budget slash!
You cannot increase funding for the things Texas needs without increasing revenue, particularly with our exploding population. But increasing revenue is out of the question in our conservative political milieu.
Oh screw it, let's just cut taxes and see if that will increase revenue...

McDonald's has been replaced by Urban Taco... which supposedly has healthier options, but also serves burgers, fries, soda, refried beans, etc.
Camden Midtown: Multifamily At 2303 Louisiana St.
in Midtown

$39 million doesn't seem like enough to make it anything exceptional for that prime location... probably be some sort of unsustainable wood frame construction like the adjacent Camden Midtown.
