I say the Rockets should go ahead and pay the luxury tax. Les has made so much money, one year of paying this isn't gonna kill the team. I think we need to resign Artest for sure. Why anyone would question this is absurd unless he wanted the bank!

Also, we need another center, not just a backup center, but a very good one, even one that is a starter. Maybe have Yao come off the bench. If we can get Emeka Okafor, that would be great. Give up Landry and Lowry or even Brooks for him if we can. Yao's contract is up after 2 more seasons i believe. Rockets shouldn't give him the max since he is injury prone. Playing for the Chinese National team is killing his career. Maybe the Rockets can provide some $$ to the Chinese Basketball Assoc to release Yao?

After next season, T-Mac is off the Rocket's payroll, so they can go after DWade who is a free agent like Lebron. We can afford to pay DWade 20 mil/yr. The question is if he will want to come here.

This might sound a bit too optimistic, but if T-Mac's knee makes great progess and he becomes the T-Mac of old, he can help us win that championship in 2nd half of season. He is expected to return around January.

That's ok. Rockets had a great season. After next year, we can go after D Wade when he becomes a free agent. The Nuggets or Cavs will take care of the Lakers.

Actually, i hope Kobe does go for 40 as long as the Rockets don't allow him to get his teammates involved. That will be a good sign for us. The key for us is limiting TURNOVERS and taking good shots. I also feel we should mix it up(going inside and also taking some 10-15 ft jumpers). Keep the Lakers guessing! The Rockets need to stick to their game plan of making Kobe take those jumpers and not penetrating to the hoop. We ca live with his 20-23 foot jumpers. If we lose by poor shooting, i can live with that, i just hate us having turnovers cause that doesn't give us any kind of shot. If we can keep this game close in the 4th quarter, you will see the Lakers kinda panic.

Yeah, that was a horrible call, but the game was over by then anyway. The rockets have nobody to blame but themselves. Turnovers will be their demise. They're taking away points from themselves and giving them away to the Lakers.

The problem is that a flagrant 2 means automatic suspension for the next game. Unless the NBA uses common sense that was a hard foul, he will out for game 4. The bigger concern is Yao. Looks like he won't be playing. As well as the Lakers played, they never really put the Rox away. We still had our chances and it was like they were begging us to come back. The Rox can still make it interesting by winning tomorrow. Get rid of all those turnovers and BETTER DECISION making please!! I just want the Rox to push the Lakers to a 7th game so that Denver can crush them!

Okay, so I'm looking at four companies and comparing them to each other, trying to figure out which would be the best to work for as a newcomer to the industry. Two are majors and two are mid-majors I think. The four I've identified so far are (in no particular order): Devon Energy, El Paso Corporation, Shell, and Exxon. Does anyone have any thoughts on any of these?

You should apply at Chevron. Great environment! Quite a few Engineers that i knew at Exxon went over to Chevron. They like it much better!

When i worked at Exxon, i heard many good things from the engineers and geologists. They do work hard, but get paid handsomely!! Stressful, but worth it. Unfortunately, i worked in the IT area and my experience was not positive. I was a contractor which made it worse, but even some of the employees didn't really like the atmosphere and culture in UTEC(believe their name has changed) at the time.

It could be one of those 'knee' injuries just to keep him on the roster in case Rafer or Aaron goes down. I'm pretty sure he is healed up by now. It is nice to have a job paying you $5million to sit all day!

i honestly dont get it.we lose rafer for 2 games and during the rockets/spurs game they completely had no idea what to do. we have so much great talent but just a lack of direction.

aaron brooks needs to bust out and have a voice and confidence and take control when he is on the court. same goes for luther head.

we all know rafer alston is tough. the guy is always in and out of suspensions, court appointments. we know he can man his position. brooks and head need to grow more balls and voice.

Brooks played a great defensive game against CP3 tonight. Heck, the Rockets played great tonight. I guess the question is which Rockets team will show up night in and night out.

I'm wondering what the mood is like for those of you working in the oil industry now that Obama has been elected. Is the general consensus that not much will change, things will get worse (layoffs, etc.), or things will get better? How do you all view this situation?

There is a sense that the good old days of high oil and gasoline prices are gone, but there is still optimism..cautious one i should say. Obviously, most of them voted for McCain, but they realize that Obama would come in and not be so favorable to the oil companies. My co-workers are just waiting to see what happens.

They might be the second best team in the west right now, but I would love to see them trade a couple of their forwards for a decent back up center. They've got to reduce Yao's minutes during the regular season. They can't compete in the playoffs without a healthy Yao.

Damn, they looked good. Sure there were the typical 2nd game mistakes, but I can really see what this team can be. Hell, in the 4th quarter TMac didn't even play the whole time, Scola didn't play, Alston didn't play, we won with Artest (the man), Yao, and Aaron Brooks (was supposed to be injured). If we can win with that group, then we should be able to beat anyone with our starters. BTW, we truly have a Big 3 now, Artest was awesome. No longer do we have to worry where points will come from. 3 options who can score 20+ night in night out. Wow, it feels good. PLEEZ stay healthy Rockets!

I am leaning towards Texas Childrens. I remember visiting there once a couple of years ago to see an ill relative's daughter. During the stay, i saw a baby probably no more than 2 yrs old sitting on a gurney waiting for the elevator along with the nurse. Her head was wrapped around with a white cloth. Her eyes were wide opened, but very sad. For some reason, i get images of her sometimes when i sleep or dream. Pretty strange..maybe i need to see a doctor myself...lol.
