  1. To bring it back on topic over a year later (haha), here's an update from the Chronicle about the Hermann Park train. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headli...ro/5386020.html Sounds intriguing. Does anyone have any renderings of this project?
  2. Same here.. I click on "view new posts". I think this is one of my favorite boards I visit, just for ease of use.
  3. I've never been and want to go this year. What is the best way to get to Prestonwood coming from inside the loop? Not sure exactly where I'll be coming from yet, probably around 610 and 59 area... Please advise; I'm map-challenged!
  4. Ah, so it's going to be a high-rise?? Where Kaplan's used to be? Weird spot, but maybe it'll bring that area up some. I like it over there, but that strip of Yale to the North Loop is pretty run-down looking.
  5. I probably saw you there and didn't realize it! I sell stuff in a couple of boutiques down there and stopped by late. Holiday on 19th is on Friday December 7th from about 6-10. LITH is on Saturday December 8th so you can do both! I agree, I would love to see more block parties and festivals around town more often. I wish we could get something good going on in the Montrose again... or maybe the East End would be a better choice now. Houston would be all the better for it.
  6. is the Inner Loop approximately? I thought I saw it mentioned in a thread, but other than something saying the Montrose is four sq. mi. I haven't been able to find this information. Anyone know? (My apologies if this is the wrong forum. I wasn't sure where to post this.)
  7. It could maybe use a little TLC, but overall, nice! What a bargain!
  8. Late to the party, but congratulations, Jax! Now I've got new wallpaper. (I really liked Mad Mex, too, Boris!)
  9. That's what I was thinking when I came to that picture - quintessential Houston! If not for the randomness, I would think I was in Any Big City, USA. Love it or hate it, the interesting juxtapositions of Houston grow on you... like mold.
  10. Great pictures! Such energy, such life... looks so vibrant! I love to see Houston photos... the places we know and love... with people in them! Lower Westheimer (The Curve) and the Montrose... Fairview, around West Alabama near the Menil and UST is really pretty... I love that part of the neighborhood. Downtown nightlife shots would be awesome, too. Rice Village people-watching, and on and on (hint, hint
