Is this development still being marketed to students?

Looks like the Admiral Linen facility (on 1.5+ blocks at Harvard/Center) is closing in January...just one block north of the new mixed use/H-E-B building at Buffalo Heights:
QuoteSalt Lake City-based Alsco Inc. recently informed the Texas Workforce Commission that it will close a central Houston facility, affecting 145 employees.
The facility is at 3520 Center St., according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter sent to the Texas Workforce. The job cuts will occur on Jan. 4.

Even with one piece, it will still probably finish before Dolce Living on West Gray.
Haha---Dolce deserves a little more respect. Le Palais on W. Gray started a full year before, and it's still under construction.

Along with this City-funded portion between Dickson and Washington, TIRZ #5 is planning the reconstruction of Durham and Shepherd between North Loop and 11th. Based on their current budget document, Shepherd is scheduled for construction in 2020 and Durham in 2022. That would leave the heavily traveled portion between 11th and Washington unplanned.

TDHCA recommended a 120-unit multi-family development for housing tax credits at 8506 Hempstead just south of 11th. It's the 2.6-ac. vacant lot at the curve.
Here's a link with site plans, and info: https://www.tdhca.state.tx.us/multifamily/docs/imaged/2018challenges/18254.pdf

I hope everyone can get a refund on all preorders of yellow foam board and stakes.

Hmmm...I cannot see the link, but I am 99.9% certain this is being mixed up with ~800 apartments planned for the 17000 block of Bissonnet in Fort Bend County in the Camelia development just east of FM 1464.

Insert Ashby high rise sign here.

Insert Houston Chronicle joke here.

No doubt roads will flood anywhere for a short period of time during 4-inch+ per hour rains, however it seems that drain pipes are way too small (and likely collapsed/clogged with silt) along many major roads in Houston. They were built 5-10 decades ago when we didn’t tend to think about regional drainage.
For example, water sits for up to an hour on Westcott and Washington after intense downpours and these streets are on relatively high ground between two bayous. Drive along during a light shower and you’ll spot drain after drain clogged. Clogged drains are by far the most challenging item to get fixed via 311 (and believe me, I’ve 311ed a lot over the years). My guess is the old, small drainage pipes are also the easiest to clog up.
How are rebuilds like Shepherd and Kirby doing now? A small car could be driven through the new storm pipes that were put underground along Tuam recently. I’m going to bet I could not even fit in the storm drain pipes under Richmond Ave. That road needs to be rebuilt with or without the train. In sum, Rebuild Houston.

Going on about 5.5 years now! Almost done!!

An Amazon drive-thru would do well here.

...just saw this announcement back in March:
http://hcp1.net/News/post/commissioner-ellis-announces-street-repairs-around-tsu-and-uh
QuoteThe goal is to create streets that are attractive and a source of neighborhood pride, while improving safety and accessibility to all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders.
In addition to roadway work, the project also includes drainage improvements, which will help reduce street flooding during heavy rain.
QuoteThe streets in the TSU area are Cleburne (Emancipation to Scott); Blodgett (Scott to Ennis); and Attucks (Cleburne to Wheeler).
The streets near UH are Cullen (Interstate 45 to North MacGregor); Wheeler (Cullen to Scott); Elgin (Scott to I-45); and Holman (Scott to Cullen).
“This project will significantly enhance the gateways into these great institutions by creating a beautiful streetscape for students and residents,” Commissioner Ellis said. “The improvements also will help hundreds of Houston residents who attend classes and work at the universities".

A crane went up about a week or two ago...I believe it sits on this site.

The apartment building site has been under construction for a few weeks now.

Doesn't seem like it. It looks like they consider that portion a separate property--notice there is a drop down above that allows you to pick the Kroger area (Loc. 20005)

The building connected/adjacent to Sunbeam appeared to be undergoing demolition today.

People actually live in the Cosmo? I assumed it only houses the erasers and pencil sharpeners of charter school students--oh and their Superintendent's fine china.

I snapped this a few days ago to show progress. The crane is going up today actually.

I'd like to see a rendering of this with the bayou flooded.

Yesterday I noticed the sign's image was corrected with the smaller brick office building AREJAY linked. Also, dirt was being moved on site.
