I am guessing Mayor McCheese granted a variance to allow underground concrete storage for Grimace's "hash" browns.

Based on a recent plat filing I came across, i believe Mill Creek is building a MF structure on Wyndale adjacent to Brays Bayou near Braeswood....just SW of the current MF building going up on Staffordshire. This could be it, I dunno.

The plan submitted to the Houston Planning Commission doesn't encroach the pond.
I overlayed the plat atop an aerial photo. The building footprint will overlap the pond by 30-60 feet in spots.

There is a variance request for the site. Signs are posted, and it should be on the next Planning Commission agenda.

It's the Midtown Terrace expansion for homeless Veteran's. The 192-unit project was awarded tax credits in 2010 I believe.

I just came across a CoH multi-family plat titled Uptown River Oaks for 3.4 acres along Briar Hollow just north of San Felipe. It's in today's planning commission agenda. According to the paperwork, it's planned for 311 units. The plat seems to include the property that the Briar Way cul-de-sac is within and the parking lot to the south.

The tower would have had only 180 units. This mid-rise will have 300.

I had forgotten about this as well. It was briefly mentioned back in 07/08...

It looks like the parking garage site is now under construction. I saw a giant hole in the ground when I drove by a few days ago.

If only the manager at the fabulous Bellaire Crossing Apartments had marketed their property like 2727 Kirby on their website: "...ideally situated...within mere minutes you can be shopping in the Galleria..." Perhaps they'd still be standing. Both are approximately the same distance from the big mall. (3 miles)
Maybe, in 30 years the 99

That's an infrastructure nightmare! Sounds like an awesome project, though.

I support all tall buildings that have potential to bring out NIMBYs. I just love watching hypocrites in action.
Haha...planning & development entertainment at its best. Bust out the popcorn!

I get really excited about the Hines Tower and the locations of these other towers because of the Southesast Corridor BRT/future light rail line! The Rusk/Capital Corridor has awesome potential...I think Hines picked a great spot.

Funny how the articles never actually mention that the BCS site had been eliminated.
