Was the building at 3505 N Main St demolished? If so, it may have been done so illegally. There aren't demolition permits on file for 3505 N Main St.

According to details from a plan review fee submitted this year, it's for an "interior remodeling of the existing 2,648 sf of office space."

Plans were approved for permitting last month.

At this point, it looks like only the second floor has been demo'd. The first floor appears to be remaining now.

postimg.org is gone, but fortunately the Internet Archive has a snapshot of that page/image. Probably worth checking the Wayback Machine whenever you run across any other photos that were hosted by postimg and no longer accessible.

    Great idea and thank you!

Yes, this is the Main St I remember as a kid. I remember there being an incredible amount of potholes and my dad's truck bouncing up and down as we were driving up from the bayou. I don't remember the storefronts looking like this but I guess they were in this bad of a shape. Houston has come so far!

I would go to those Whole Foods on occasion because it was the closest grocery store to me.  It always seemed dead when I would go.  It never gained the traffic of other Whole Foods.

It was always dead. We only went there because they had a special type of milk for my son that was usually sold out at Target and HEB. I told my wife that there's no way this place can last just a few months ago. There's like two floors of parking and only like 10 or 15 spots are used in the entire parking garage.

Still really hoping we can get an HEB in midtown or even downtown if that's possible.

I'd MUCH rather have a surface parking lot than an exposed towering parking garage that kills street life.

A surface parking lot has future potential. This is going to age like hot milk.

Exactly. With so much concrete wall everywhere, it will eventually start looking like this crap that was demo'd. We all love infill on this site, we can agree about that, especially when it takes a parking lot away. But we absolutely must accept when there's an eyesore being created that we're going to have to live with... Just like we've been talking about the eyesore that is the Mercer Condominiums in the Galleria on this site for almost 2 decades now on HAIF.
