For those of you wanting to try Bertani Ranch but thought it was too expensive, try this.
Go to Restaurant.com and search in 77429 until you find Bertani Ranch.
Select the gift certificate you want. In the coupon code section, enter EXCLUSIVE (works today, may not work forever) which drops the cost of the certificate by around 60% (instead of $10 it will be $4).
Basically you can get a $25 gift certificate for 4 bucks. You do have to spend $35 total (including your gift certificate) and drinks don't count towards total, but its still a good deal. Basically $35 worth of food for $14 + tip.
There are some other good options too if you're going to spend more.

Also just to clarify - I saw a sign on the place today.
It's actually a Hybrid KFC/Taco Bell for any fried chicken fans...
-
Aw man... I'd prefer a Chick Fil A, but it's better than another bank or salon at least.
On a side note, I saw an article recently stating that Houston was a major hub for illegal Chinese immigration. I hope this doesn't have anything to do with all the freaking nail salons in the area!!!

Looks like something is going in here in a new building by the Bank of America.
Looks like maybe a Chic Fil A or something... Anyone know what it is?

This is finally open about 9 months later. Walked in - looked like a pretty decent bar, though it definitely had more of a bar-feel than a restaurant-feel (i.e. probably won't go with the kids).
Stopped by tonight. Good burger and pretty cool bar considering we're talking Cypress suburbs! Will go back.
-
Saw a banner hanging outside of the building saying Kilburns Opening Soon, so it looks like Kilburns is a go.

More likely some in suburban Houston.
Houston is getting screwed on this idiotic plan. Connect us with Dallas, Austin, & SA, or don't spend the money.
-
You're right - looks like I had that backwards.
Also, the linked flyer I had before doesn't work, but this flyer makes it look like it may be a Panera Bread.

According to this flyer, on page 6, it looks like a Steak and Shake might be going in on 290 and Spring Cypress near the Chic-Fil-A and Chilis.

There's something to be said about the success of this place when the big announcement for grand openings on the website are for a dentist office and a place to mail letters.
Watch business pour in for those places. Time to celebrate and have a good time!
There's also highlighted article entitled "Houston We have No Problems" which is not really accurate anymore.

I'm hearing the corner lot is a bank and a Chipotle.
Another Bank? I think there are more banks at Vintage Park than stores and restaurants combined...
-
Looks like they cleared out some trees right behind the Vintage Park sign right at the corner of 249 and Louetta and look like they are laying some foundation tereh. Anyone have any idea what this might be?
-
I got something in the mail from them today for a grand opening celebration. That opening is not for this weekend, but the next.
Anyone make it out to the grand opening celebration yesterday?

Shogun and Fish city grill is open... The westin element hotel is almost complete...
We went by Brix Wine Cellars a couple of weeks ago and liked it.

Anyone seen the large structure, perhaps a restaurant, going up near the BJ's and Macaroni Grill area on 1960 near willowbrook? Anyone know what this is?
-
About the only positive to the whole financial crisis we're going through is we'll start to see fewer of these "Oh, it's just another bank branch" replies on HAIF.
Instead we might start hearing "Oh, its just another empty bank branch" replies.

Or vice versa. (Capital One bought Hibernia, not the other way around.)

Anyone know what is coming in the front of Cypress Town Center by Spring Creek BBQ? They just poured a large slab but no signs yet
At first I thought it was a Hibernia Bank based on the flyer below, but I think that's just the Capital One Bank that's already there. Capital One was bought by Hibernia recently.
However, another interesting thing on this flyer is it shows what I believe to be a TGIF Fridays as an Olive Garden... I wonder why.

Got this email from someone at Boston's after I inquired about it:
I spoke with our Director of Development and this is what he said:
We looked at that site, but it's one of 4 or 5 that we are pursuing. Will probably wind up on a different site in Cypress over on 249
Unfortunately, until we have a site secured, we do not have an estimated opening date. Also, this store will have our new exterior design, with two patios !!!
Thank you for your interest in Boston

On the flyer for Cypress Village Station - the retail portion of the Metro station at 290 and Skinner - the flyer shows "Proposed Boston's Pizza. "
I used to eat there all the time in Dallas and there's a really cool one with a huge deck in College Station. Hopefully this gets through!

Jedi Jake
I am going to take the bet they will not be opened for 4 months. As a partner we are doing very good. Yes we started with some poor employees and my partner gets frustrated at times. I apoligize for both. But we regularly have over an hour wait. Main reason is the food is down home and really good.
Please do not peg the place as bad after a few reviews, some could be from other people in the area with failing places. We have 2 frozen margarita machines. Service is MUCH better than it was weeks ago. We opened just over 60 days ago. Everything gets better everyday. Come on in and try the food. Maybe we can get the Monkey named OBI one out there. Ok that was monkey humor.
To those with the poor service, feel free to drop me a note and I will get you a gift certificate to try us again.
