  1. There are 87 different Elementary, Intermediate and High School designs featured on the page. Career and Technology Schools and other special campuses are also featured. When you click on each school name all floorplans, siteplans, Architectural Renderings and Pictures are available. Some familiar Houston-Area Schools on this page are Cy-Fair ISD's Kahla Middle School and Conroe ISD's Woodlands College Park High School. Katy ISD's Cinco Ranch High School and Klein ISD's Klein Collins High School were featured on another report from previous years. Schools in the link are from the 2006 report. The 2007 report will be out soon.

  2. Politics can get ugly, especially when you're Rosie O'Donnell.

The former co-host of "The View" is getting heat from fans after posting a photo on her blog -- rosie.com -- that depicts her 4-year-old daughter Vivienne wearing a toy ammunition belt.

Many are accusing her of inappropriately exploiting her daughter to further her own political beliefs. O'Donnell is known for being a staunch anti-war activist and has spoken out against the National Rifle Association repeatedly.

doing this to your own child is ridiculous.

Yeah, I saw the whole story on Inside Edition. I think it's pretty pathetic also. I'm actually sick of hearing about Rosie O'Donnell.

  3. My daughter starts kindergarten this year, and her whole school(Bear Creek Elementary) is being renovated inside and out. New brick all around the outside, new sheetrock and wiring on the inside. I am very surprised and very happy about this. My tax dollars at work.

Is Bear Creek Elementary School in Conroe ISD? If so when was there last Bond Program?

  4. Today Art Rascon and Illona Carson started off the Live at Five Newscast. When they begin the newscast they went strait to Galveston for a live report on Scuba Diving Eqiupment. A new reporter was reporting. His name is Craig Bell. He did a great job. I don't know were he came from unlike Catishia Cosley who let everyone know she came from FOX 61 after signing off the wrong station last week. I wonder why ABC 13 keeps hiring all these new reporters. They've hired 3 within one year. Eric James and Catishia Cosley both have first impressions of signing off with the wrong station, Lets hope Craig Bell is different.

  5. Hi everybody, I decided recently I would like to persue a career in Architecture, I'm really fascinated by extreme architecture and watch a great deal of it on television to me architectur is the greates form of art on this planet and is so mindblowing at times, anyways I was hoping some of you established architects could provide me with some valuble information on what I should do to prepare myself (High school classes, JC classes I should take in advance to entering college as a full time student)

I'll be entering my 3rd year of high school at the end of this summer and am taking my 2nd drafting class(This time an advanced class)

    I really appreciate it :)

I also want to become an architect. I'm taking Architectural Graphics next year also in my junior year.

  6. Elementary 21 will be located on Imperial Valley Drive across from Andy Dekaney High School, and Elementary 22 will be constructed in the Northgate Crossing subdivision near Northgate Crossing Drive and the Hardy Toll Road. Both schools are projected to open in August 2008. Both Campuses are upgraded versions of Lewis and McNabb Elementary Schools.

  7. Spring ISD also used PBK Architects in Bailey and Claughton Middle Schools and Burchett and McNabb Elementary Schools. They are a wonderful firm who design schools with very attractive exteriors with much detail to make them look very extravagant. Maybe Cy-Fair ISD should just experiment with another firm atleast once. SHW Architects designed the new Dekaney HS and Carl Wunsche HS in Spring ISD. SHW also designed Klein ISD's Klein Collins HS, Korhville ES, Metzler ES, Kreinhop ES and McDougle ES. Attractive schools are nice to have in a school district, but PBK isn't the only firm in Houston that can do a great job. Maybe if they experiment with another Architectural Firm they can save money.

  8. any comments on the rumor that Rosie is being considered to take over for Bob Barker on TPIR?

Rosie Odonell did meet with NBC Producers today in New York to discuss her posibility of hosting The Price is Right. Hate to say it wasn't a rumor. It's just she doesn't seem like the right person.

  9. Funny. I ride my bike to that high school/intermediate/elementary school area everyday. :P

And yes, I've noticed soooo many mobile trailers! It looks like they'll have to actually expand the building instead of bringing mobile trailers there. The main reason for the tremendous increase of students is the tremendous growth that is going on in Spring. I don't think the builders of the schools expected that kind of growth.

Are you a student at Schindewolf? Yes, the whole area is crowded especially on the first day of school, It's a mess.

  10. Read the article carefully and you will see that "Priority 3" items are NOT included in the proposed bond issue.

In order to do any sort of reasonable, worthwhile comparison, don't you have to consider the student capacity of the various structures built/proposed? For example, DeKaney High School is designed for a maximum attendance of 2,500. Cy-Fair appears to build their high schools for a maximum attendance of 3,000.

Even though Dekaney has a 2,500 capacity, The facility is 486,000 square feet which is about the same or close to what Cy Fair ISD builds their high Schools. Klein Collins is 555,000 square feet, and is a physically attractive school and still cost less than $60 million to build, even though it was just 6 years ago.

  11. Construction prices for new schools have gone up considerably. $90 million is alot for a new school. A few short years ago Katy ISD built Seven Lakes High School for $77 million, and in 2001 Klein ISD built Klein Collins High School for a low $56 million. 10-35 million dollars is a big jump from 3-6 years. Can it be the architects and construction companies Cy Fair ISD uses. I mean lets be for real, all of their new facilities look very very expensive-Berry Center, Cy-Springs HS, Cy-Woods HS, Cy-Ranch HS, Cy-Lakes HS, and even some of their Elementary and Intermediate Campuses. It didn't even cost that much to build Spring ISD's new Dekaney HS and that is what a state of the art school looks like.

  12. As Tom Abrahms, David Tilman and Tim Melton anchored the 6pm Saturday Edition of Eyewitness News, A new reporter was featured Katisha Cosley. I don't know if this was her first appearance on air or not, but it was my first time seeing her. As Tom went to a different topic he said Katisha Cosley joining us in the Newsroom. At first I thought it was going to be a report from ABC News Headquarters, but at the end of her report she signed off "Katisha Cosley 13 Eyewitness News." Her first appearance on air was way better than rather new reporter Eric James's in which he signed off with his old news station at the end of the report.
