  1. pretty good amount of roof patching going on.. not sure if that was rotting wood or something we as under there they took out..
  2. Really going at it today.. got the signs up for the Design and Contractors invovled. Which, as just a hobbyist that likes watching these things and learning.. I'll ask the pros.. at what point does it cost more than its worth just just demo it and start over? Is the shell that expensive? i mean it looks like they are really taking it down to nothing.
  3. They're on the roof today... and yeah as noted above they've cleared all the windows and complete removed the wall that previously held the "front door"
  4. They've removed all the old metal facade now and are doing some wood repair work. Also look a front door! unseen in a decade (at least!). Looks like they're putting wood paneling up maybe? not positive. couldn't see inside very well.
  5. They're actually doing some work now.. looks like maybe some Facade work as well as inside. lots more cars on hand as well.
  6. Yeah was just going to post, looks like another group bought it out from Williamsburg or whoever it was... Looks like the wheatpasters gonna have to find a new wall to do their thing on :) (full disco i live next door, happy to see literally anything happen to this place)
  7. They lit the sign.. and I'm strangely super stoked about it! Always wanted to see it lit! Don't know if the clock is on on the other side, will check tomorrow. Needs some work but man its cool to see it alive!
  8. Fair enough. Yeah they have board meetings with the owners every month to talk about that stuff. We just got a new building mgmt company as well... https://www.fsresidential.com/texas/offices/houston/ so changes could be coming with that. Its a great building, been here over a decade, just seems high but as you said, condos I guess. Thanks for the insight!
  9. oh, one thing i was wondering, since it is for sale, does that mean they found a new place? or as noted that the lease runs out Oct 2024 they are just getting an early start on selling the property and greyhound doesn't intend to stay. either way, curious where it would end up.
  10. If the greyhound really goes like is being said that it is for sale now... that would be a nice addition.
  11. Regarding 2016 Main (disclaimer, i rent here) take a peek at those HOA fees before you think about buying... or just for a laugh. Its about $1 per sq ft, per month. Like the aforementioned penthouse for sale for 300k... its HOA fee is $3500 a MONTH... its just kinda crazy. This is why we stil haven't pulled the trigger on buying one of these yet. 1 and 2bd aren't as step, but even $1500 a month on top of mortgage is steep.. even factoring in All Bills Paid. (internet (fast), basic HD cable, water, electricity, waste, etc etc). Anyway, just pointing out, I think other buildings in the area will probably do better than this one, as long as they keep these crazy HOA fees. (unless this is normal, but looking around I haven't seen anything close to these fees in the area)
  12. nice, thanks for confirming. interesting wonder what would want to be right there.. I have heard rumors in the building that someone is buying up these lots. Same person that recently bought the old Bank of America building is buying others around. That crappy property on travis on the OTHER side of my building got complete inside demo, and they tore down everything that was in the parking lot recently. A company that is trying to lease it , really pushing that it has 50 parking spots. So someone(s) out here taking over these areas. Keep in mind, though, the rumor about the greyhound moving has also been in this building as long as i have haha.. probably for many decades.. so who knows what is really going on. Hence why i came here :D
  13. Hi, u/lolunix here. The arches are gone, the drive thrus are gone, and all signage is off the building. It does appear to be going away.
