  1. lol Actually you being a rocket scientist has nothing to do with the price of tea in China. My brothers a math genius, but has no street smarts. But thanks for letting us know that, it might come in handy if we need help building a rocketship. But getting back on topic, Fox news actually does deliver legitimate news just as the other news networks. But at the same time, just as other news networks, they hold shows that do cater to their audiences. If you disagree with those particular shows you can always change the channel, or read a book but don't hate on them for delivering an idiology or providing another view of something cause you don't approve. They are entitled to their opinions as is the crazy guy on the street corner in the tattered clothes and cardboard sign that claims that psychotic green cows from outterspace are arriving to eat all the children of the world. Actual respectful and inciteful people really do listen to both sides of an argument instead of ignoring what one side says because they happen to disagree. I don't agree with everything they, the political shows on all the networks say, but i do take it into consideration as well as do some research myself to form a more intelligible conclusion.
  2. Ugh, Metro will never do things right. It still boggles the mind when they still insist to run these trains on grade with the rest of traffic. You would think they would really do studies and consider perhaps Chicago's and New Yorks transportation successes. Oh well, after billions spent and years of headaches from construction and little actual use it just may catch on.
  3. Well like i said, i was fortunate enough to go for a week. If you think that if it might be too expensive especially for a week in "The Big Apple" i can assure you it wasn't for me. With a roundtrip plane ticket from Houston to NY, it was $270. the Hostel was $41 a night. I payed $150 of the new york pass that got me access to all the zoos, museums, and sites for free. Transportation in the city of NY for the entire week was just $25. That included the trip from Leguardia on the M60 bus to Astoria Blvd to catch the R or W train all the way into Manhattan to the 8th street NYU stop. I walked for miles that week and ridden the subway many more. All in all i spent between $750 to $850 total. That being my first trip there, i sure felt like i owned that city, i easily navigated all around without a hitch. Some of my fellow classmates were a little less adventurous, lol. But I am actually planning to return sometime this fall or winter, depends on certain factors.
  4. As the description says, I visited NYC at the end of may for a week and snapped some pics. I just finally loaded them onto photobucket so i could share them. It kinda dumbed down the images a lil bit when i uploaded them, they were originally shot at high resolution, 3264x2448, and now its 1024x768. I was actually listening to Deep Purple's smoke on the water while I took this pic My first visit and view of the city seeing as it was my first commercial flight too. new Cooper Union building, stayed at the Village Inn Hostel on the same street about 150ft away from it WTC site Times Square at night Atop the rock from "the lake" in central park taken at columbus circle siteseeing Grand Central Terminal the guggenheim the whitney yankee game the apple store lady liberty the sphere sculpture from the trade center site after a long walk across the brooklyn bridge, i sat down in fulton park and enjoyed the view the flight back lookin for the hostel in comparison to the rest of the city took over 450 pics, these are just a few i wanted to share.
  5. Considering that were talking about Houston and for that matter Texas, anything other than what is here is innovative. Were Texans and we like to do things different and sometimes backasswards which explains why we got a train that runs along the center of main street and basically acts as a bus. lol
  6. LMAO!!! Im sorry, but no way on god's green earth or dante's firey pits of damnation will your 500cc Piaggio beat my ninja 500. Im giggling at the thought. Maybe in gas mileage, I can get close to 45mpg but thats cause i like to give it a little more than usual. I wouldnt call it a crotchrocket wannabe, its not even a crotchrocket. Its just a standard sportbike, entry level sportbike. It looks just like the sportbikes did in the 80's. Your crotchrocket wannabes are bikes like your Honda intruder(which i personally like) looks evil and fast but its a sport-tour bike. Harleys are okay, its more the name and aura than the bike. But yes i ride, infact my whole family rides. My mom rides a Harley Sportster 883, dad rides a Goldwing and a Sportster 1200, and my brother, well he used to ride a Honda CBR 600RR but was stolen recently, which was probably his fortune if you knew how many DPS officers he out ran in a flash. Insaine speeds to say the least, he topped it at 167mph on I-45 one night while racing with a friend of his on a GSX-R 1000.
  7. Like speed . Those vespas do what 30 maybe 40 if youre lucky. I still get about the same gas milage and can ride the freeway. And get less laughs.
  8. Um, how much did you pay for it? Cause i bought a kawasaki ninja 500 for like $5,000 a few years ago and i can actually have more freedoms on the road than that lil thing.
  9. No, you put those speeders on the HOV where they belong. Then you pull the buses off the HOV and put them in the far right lane on the regular highway.
  10. lol, kinda like the 3 shell stations at the corner of sawdust and 45. i swear if jack in the box wasn't taking the 4th corner there would've been another shell station and the would've "cornered the maket'
  11. I am curious as to the true height of chase tower. This site has it at 1002 feet, but the houston chronicle had an article listing the true height at 1049 feet.
  12. Is that really amural? Wow thats awesome if it is!!!
  13. Its funny how the two buildings in that rendering both resemble Anadarko tower in The Woodlands. Its as if the both have half of the design. One has the concrete and glass and the other has the large setbacks at the top.
  14. Thats funny because my brother and I were driving through downtown that thursday night, Jan 31st, on our way to the casinos in Louisiana and I also noticed that the chase tower was lit up wih red. But I like it better than those plain white lights that are everywhere around town and have been for years and years. A little change is good even if it is just for a little while.
  15. I guess the question is which have been built or are actually in the process of being built. Because a good design is just that, just an idea on paper, where as true architecture is the good idea on paper becoming reality.
  16. We're back! This is the year for the rockets, we now have all the pieces to the puzzle and are probably the best team in the west. If we stay healthy then we are going to win it all! GO ROCKETS!
  17. Yao returns tonight against cleveland. Its now time to kick ass and win the championship.
  18. 36. Old Faithful Inn..?#*%$? Ah, never heard of it and am still wondering how it made that rank. This list makes me just want to laugh because of its silliness.
  19. As far as god goes: The way the Christians, Jews, and Muslims are running the world, Satan save us. I actually want a bumper sticker that says that. I don't believe in God but don't care what other people think or believe in. As far as gays: I like women, when I see a fine looking woman it turns me on. I have no problem with gays. At first I was against gay marriage. I thought about it for a while and debated in my head, and really realized that there was no reason that they shouldn't be able to marry each other. I work with a person who is gay and he has become a good friend of mine. As far as genetics: I think stem cell research is a good thing. I think we need more of it. I believe there is more potential in science saving lives then there is in worshiping some silly statue or ideal. As far as airlines: I have never flown in an airplane so I cannot comment on that. I probably come off as some liberal, commie, godless loony. But the funny thing is that I believe in the death penalty, I believe in the right to bear arms, I believe in lower taxes, and when Rudolph Giuliani is on the ballot for the presidency, I'm voting for him.
  20. I like the tunnels. Its been maybe 2 years since I've been in them but I enjoyed walking through them. My only problem is that they weren't open later and were closed on the weekends. I think if only Houston had a subway system, they would be even better. It would be neat to take a subway train down to the galleria from the downtown tunnels. Oh well, wishful thinking aside, I still enjoy them.
  21. Oops. I am sorry, I paid $636.44, not $635. I got it at a Wal-mart that has a tax bracket of 6.250 %. If you do the math on a product that is listed at 599.00 you get $37.44 in tax which gives you a total of $636.44. No, it does not have a keyboard, but you can use a wireless keyboard on it if you have one. All I did was use the controller. It is similar to text messaging only there is a list of words that you can select from as you type. If you are good at text messaging then you might even type better on this. All I did was plug it in to the DSL line and was surfing the net on my television. I have even downloaded some demos of games on it. I downloaded a Sudoku puzzle game, a Motorstorm demo, a Grand Turismo HD demo, and the Resistance: Fall of man Demo(even though I could go rent the game for a couple of bucks) all for free. You can even install an operating system on it too.
