  1. I rented an apartment at 1200 Post Oak for 2 years before moving to Pearland.... Loved the location and amenities of the place; So if budget is not a problem I would go for the same area with same type of amenities at http://www.houstonmontebello.com/ or Villa d'Este
  2. I wouldn't compare both, but I'll give you an update in 5 years since I guess you have no interest in coming to this area.
  3. Place was packed..... I was impressed with the service, which usually for new places around Pearland, sucks for a while and in some other places it just sucks. Hope they keep up the good work. Thanks for the recommendation Lockmat; great dessert. Really enjoyed Pearland Town Center; great addition to the neighborhood. Traffic did not look as bad as I expected, but as promised I walked there. A little humidity but the walk made me feel much better after the Pizza, Beer & the Macadamia Pazooki!
  4. Nothing to get much excited about. Have not been on a weekend to be able to tell you if it gets a nice crowd. Food is decent. I would love to find a good local bar around here too.... Sam's boat doesn't do it for me either.
  5. Unfortunately, the feeders of 288 between 2234 & 518 won't be completed until 2009. The corner of 288 & 518 is going to become a mess starting tomorrow. They are just trying to give people some alternatives to the headache that corner will be. Me, I'll be walking to the strip center as you call it; And for sure I'll get in trouble for my unnecessary staring
  6. The commercial is for CBL and not specifically for the Pearland Town Center. So no Strip mall to be showcased here..... but I agree, don't waste your time coming to our side of town. We'll try to enjoy the new developments in our area as much as we can, even with all the traffic/security/other pains and headaches they will bring. If a Parking garage is needed later on, it can be easily added in that huge surface lot. Fortunately, we don't have the space constraints that some other areas have. You should see the waste of space my backyard is.
  7. From the city of Pearland Website: SH 288 Possible Traffic Slowdown July 30 - Aug. 3 A large west-side retail development is set for a grand opening of some major stores Wednesday, July 30 - Sunday, Aug. 3, which may cause temporary traffic slowdowns in the Shadowcreek/SH 288 area. Pearland police officers will be monitoring traffic flow in the area, and any alternate routes will be clearly marked with appropriate signage. For details, please visit http://pearlandtowncenter.com/shop/pearland.nsf/index Traffic Map Really? Their Map clearly points to the lack of Frontage roads in 288 and connectors for BW8 & 288. It will probably be a traffic nightmare at 288 & 518. I'm glad I am very close, so I'll be walking to enjoy the opening week.
  8. They will get the head of the new president. Makes me wonder on the color of his statue if he gets elected? I can see the polemic either way they decide to go.
  9. Funny that the existing Sage Plaza has 83,000ft of retail.
  10. Well, I learned something new today too...... No wonder every time we have big rains where I live (Shadow Creek Ranch in Pearland), most of the Baseball and Soccer fields become Swimming/Waterpolo facilities for a couple of days.
  11. I lived there when they first opened as a Rental property back in the early 2000's. Loved the place. My apartment was a 2 bedroom in the first floor in front of the pool. Quality of apartment was good, slate concrete floor, nice size bathroom and kitchen. Best thing about the place was the great location. Only drawback was the security in the garage area; many cases of broken in cars, usually when either of the garage door was not working and was left open at night.
  12. I think those pads in front of 518 are not really part of the Pearland Town Center mall, and that is why you don't see Burger King, Jarred, Red Lobster or even Gringo's listed as tenants. In their website, they call it Peripherial Property Is in the following Map BW PTC Map
  13. Cool. I guess it will be one of the pads they have front of 518 for which they don't detail tenants on their web site yet.
  14. Today's Chronicle had a local area magazine advertising the new Gringo's coming to Shadow Creek Ranch. Any idea where it will be located? I also know that Pappas owns land on 288 & Cr59, but more and more I hear the rumour that finally they will be moving ahead with building a restaurant. It will be a Pappasitos, but I wonder if they have plans also for a Pappadeaux or Pappas BBQ. Any idea on timing? Taco Cabana on west Broadway is almost ready. I guess my days of relying only on Whataburger & Ihop at 2-3 a.m. are almost over.
  15. Not pretty last night.... But they are up to 20 and counting! I'm glad the Hawks were not able to end another Rockets streak as they did in the 90's (15).
  16. Way to go Rockets.... New franchise record; Hopefully they can keep it up for the playoffs. No Yao but Mutombo is playing like he was 20 years ago. Sweet 16
  17. Help select the first Statues to come to the Park. Ground break has been scheduled Presidents Day in February. PRESIDENTIAL PARK
  18. I have a lot of faith on this place..... Richard Browne has plenty of experience helping developing the Woodlands Town Center and I am sure his development company will do a great job setting a stage for the presidential heads and surround them with first class restaurants. However I agree some of the options they put in the survey make no sense, like Olive garden, Fuddrockers & Cabo (Already very close on 518), Fish City & Grill & BJ's (Coming to Pearland Town Center) , Lupe Tortilla & La Madelaine (Coming to Shadow Creek Town Center).
  19. Great Idea from the developer..... Help select the restaurants!! THE RESTAURANT ROW ON THE GRAND CANAL
  20. Went today for the first time..... I agree with many here; I was expecting more. Selection is pretty amazing, and I am sure they will get better with time. Did not think that prices were that bad, of course people are comparing them to Wal-Mart and not Randalls/Kroger. Cafe on the Run looks Ok, will have to try it, same with the Sushi. Floorplan is quite complicated and the Bakery seemed to be out of place in the middle of the store. I agree that in comparison, Super Target is a better shopping experience than HEB Plus (For now). Is it me or the parking lot seems small for such a large store.
  21. Now that Pearland is embracing the XXI century, we'll see the real PLUS on HEB and their wine department!
