ignoring the CVS on Main Street in downtown, which is about 1 mile from most places in east downtown.
Lockwood/Harrisburg is 1.7 miles from McKinney/Emancipation.
Anyone else take an almost person offence to the fact that the Lockwood/Harrisburg CVS uses three different fonts and colors in their branding as "CVS y mas?"

I wonder if it’s related to the Acadian Bakery on W. Alabama? They’re known for their Mardi Gras king cake, so I assume that a Cajun restaurant would be a logical extension.https://houston.eater.com/2020/7/29/21346717/acadian-bakery-houston-montrose-closed-after-40-years
Probably not. Or may super yes (close bakery on W. Alabama, open new shop)!

I'm still hoping there is more than blank space.
Seems odd to hire an interior design firm with more restaurant/bar experience than commercial/residential work to do your building and not use their full potential.

According to the Major Thoroughfare & Freeway Plan, Commerce is a "Major Collector of sufficient width" so it's probably low down on the todo list, unless something changes
Like a few planned mid to high-density projects 🤔?

There is a thread on "Going up" about this:

Not the biggest Poke fan, but the area desperately needs more variety of food. For that reason alone, I would go.
I can't vouch for everyone in my subdivision, but the 14 of us here are always looking for more variety. I'd guess they would all be going too. At least once 😃

Agreed. The speeding on Jensen/Navigation/Commerce/Canal is insane.

Existing traffic patterns being the pattern of having no traffic at all lol...
I dunno, there is a lot of traffic. Mostly concrete trucks and other trucks roaring down Navigation daily. Maybe "not overwhelm" means "swap work trucks for passenger vehicles."

Yes, they’re garage-door type windows. It looks to me as though there will be a bar there with indoor and outdoor counter seating. Nice!
That's some good COVID adaptability.

Work is still being done inside the restaurant but appears to be months away from opening.
I was walking the dog by the building earlier and noticed they took out the front facing windows on the restaurant side.Thought that was pretty odd.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership just sent this out regarding an informational session on the Buffalo Bayou East Plans:
I don't know if we are allowed to post links to stuff like that here, but, I'm sure you can find info on their website.- 10

I'm not sure what work needs to be done, post Harvey, but from where I live I can see the roof of the building. It looked to have been damaged during Harvey and remained since then. Maybe they are working on it finally.

Yeah, "yikes" is a good way of summing up my feelings towards that roof design.

The Midtown Randalls is in no way an upscale shopping experience. There are HEB's in Texas towns with a population of 3,000 that have a better selection and more room.
My wife and I call Midtown Randall's "Club Randall's." All it has a good selection of is Gatorade, energy drinks and beer. Rest is a hodgepodge.
Wonder why?

Not to mention the fact that 2404 is one small lot while East River is a massive development that needs utilities, roads, and all that jazz run before you can even start.

The city mailed Notices of Variance Request on this project. Reference 2020-1119. Hearing will be on Thursday.
They are moving quickly.

Based on the old Swamplot article, that's what it sounds like.
Looks nice.

Oof, I was unaware of that. Hadn't been there in a month or so. That's just nasty.
