  1. Heavy pecan coffee table in excellent condition. My parents purchased in the early sixties. I'm not sure if it would excite any mid-century fans. Maybe some of HAIFs experts could chime in.

    Personally, I think it's ugly.

The table is located in Conroe. We aren't sure how to price it. The label on the bottom reads "Columbia" in Louisville, KY. It has a unit number......6682 if I remember correctly.

Any input you have is appreciated.

  2. I recall an interview with a major Houston developer who owns the subject property. I cannot remember who it was, perhaps Mischer? Anyway, in the interview he said they want to do a really good development on that property. I wish I could find the interview, but I don't remember enough specifics to be able to do a decent search. :-(

i remember this as well, but do not remember how far back or where!

  3. i sent a comment to impactnews and the editor responded that the residential is unannounced; however, he attached a link to the rendering of the 20 story at waterway square. either he doesn't know, or he didn't want to admit they got it wrong in the article. a different source suggested that there is 40ish story tower which is unannounced, but didn't specify residential. a third source said there may be another residential tower which is unannounced, but could be for hughes landing and not the waterway. maybe impactnews let the "40" story height slip, shouldn't have, and are attempting to cover it up. i think 40 stories is excessive and unlikely. i would be happy to be wrong. i certainly do enjoy the expectation. see below.

      Mr. %%%%,
The project the reporter is referring to is the planned high-rise condominium to be located in Town Center near The Woodlands Waterway. The Development Company has not formally announced the project, but has released renderings and addressed the project with Community Impact Newspaper. More information about the project, and others in Town Center, can be found at the following link:

    • "40 Story Luxury Tower" Near The Woodlands Waterway
Is the author referring to the "20 story" luxury tower at Waterway Square? There are no "40 story" towers announced for development in The Woodlands. Where did she obtain this information? Curious.

  4. oh. now i get it. interfaith was originally responsible for welcoming newcomers to the woodlands, and kept records of the woodlands population. when you are a new resident of the woodlands, an interfaith rep will come knocking on your door. it sounds as if they keep up with more than new homeowners.

  5. "interfaith" lockmat?

fortune - no details on a 40 story commercial building, just a rumor. the woodlands development company is focusing on hughes landing specifically for now, or so i've heard. nothing major to occur for a year or so on the waterway.....at least to be developed by the woodlands. i do not know if there are properties not owned by the development company that could see some activity.

on another note, the push for a permanent ice rink location, is because the parking lot at six pines and lake robbins is to be developed in the coming years.

i think the woodlands development company is limited as to how much they can develop at one time. the current demand for hotels, rental units, and commercial, may be greater than they can produce.

  6. good find. the architecture is similar to the village at the woodlands waterway. i wonder if they designed that as well. it is a great location, i wonder if it is rental or for sale. if for sale, buy at pre-construction prices, because they will sell out and appreciate rapidly. in this market, probably rental.

"The master plan for The Woodlands includes more multifamily housing in Town Center, the Village of Creekside Park and in the proposed 66-acre mixed use development of Hughes Landing, according to The Woodlands Development Company.

A 40-story luxury condominium building is also planned for Town Center near The Woodlands Waterway. The high-end units aim to fill the need of a specific segment of the area’s population, such as empty nesters and young professionals.

“Town Center was always planned to be more urban, with higher density residences than the villages in The Woodlands,” said Susan Vreeland-Wendt, spokeswoman for The Woodlands Development Company."

Either impactnews misspoke, or something is up. This is the second time I've heard of a 40-story tower for The Woodlands, but the first was commercial. Anyone know of the project they are referring to? The luxury tower at Waterway Square is to be 20 stories, and I think the site is too small for a 40-story tower.

WHAT? The luxury residential at Waterway Square is 20 stories and the floor plate is probably too small for 40 stories. This is the second mention of a 40 story building I've heard, but the first was commercial. Either impactnews misspoke, or something else is afoot.
