  1. A friend of mine works at Jimmy Wilson's, and she told me that the Westheimer location will close soon, be refurbished, and will re-open as Pappadeaux.
  2. I hate to see them gone, too. Wonder where Mark Garay went.
  3. Thanks for that link. I read through the names and saw Mark Garay's name. I didn't realize he wasn't on KTRK anymore.
  4. What I read over there is that he has been taking meteorology courses.
  5. I read over on Isiah Carey's Insite! that Khambrel Marshall is supposedly going to be in front of the camera again, but this time as a weatherman. Has anyone else heard this? Or what station? Thanks!
  6. 2188 was her bib #. Here's a link to her results [
  7. I saw that sign today. That apartment complex has recently been refurbished, but I'm not sure how "nice" it really is.
  8. Thanks for the info -- I didn't think about that.
  9. This morning about 10am, there were about 6 or 8 State Troopers in uniform with bright yellow vests at the Eldridge & Briar Forest intersection. It looked like they were surveying -- they had that type of equipment. Anyone have any idea why State troopers were doing this? We thought something must have happened at that intersection, but what?
  10. I was stunned to turn channel 13 on early yesterday morning and see a new anchor. Then Tom Koch said that Minerva had "retired last week". I love the morning team on channel 13 (I miss Doug Brown, though). If it's true that they were moving Minerva to 11am only, then that is a demotion. Ch 13's morning news is always so highly rated, so being moved off of it would be a demotion to me. We miss you Minerva!
  11. I used to love listening to Shannon and Pruett during my afternoon drive home from work. Then they moved them to the morning, and I didn't listen to them. I really miss them in the afternoon. I hope they pop up again on talk radio somewhere.
  12. Not sure what happened, but it's here now: http://carey2.blogspot.com/
  13. I drive past the Bentworth a couple of times per week, and so far I'm not too impressed. I hate the exterior color, LOL. A friend of mine who owns a home near Kirkwood & BriarForest called the new owners a few months ago, and she was told it would be a Class A property. I don't think so!
  14. You just don't know what you're missing! Jonathon Walton did a report today on Good Day Houston. It was about a senior citizen dance group. He gave them a copy of Carmen Electra's DVD that teaches you how to do a lap dance. And they showed them doing it.
  15. That's too bad -- I really like Khambrel as an anchor. He really got screwed around when they switched him to weekends -- the poor guy was on early in the morning and late in the evening. I hope this is what he wants and he will be happy.
  16. Many of the master planned communities have houses that all look the same. Cookie-cutter is right. You're right -- people would go out and buy land in Memorial and build their houses. There isn't another house that has the same floorplan. Little by little, the older homes are being sold, then torn down, and huge houses are built on the lot. As long as the lot is big enough for that size house, I don't mind. I just don't like huge houses that barely fit on the lot.
  17. My inlaws moved "way out there" to the Memorial area (now it is Hunter's Creek) back in the early 50's. They bought a couple of acres, but later subdivided. We recently inherited the home, which is on 3/4 acre. The Memorial Villages are like living in a small town. I also like that it is zoned -- no convenience stores or strip shopping centers on every corner. It's hard to believe that you're living inside a huge city. It's very quiet. I love all the trees, and the other poster was right about them keeping up with the deed restrictions. The police force is very responsive, and I can say that I feel safe.
  18. Do you mean The Weather Channel? I'll have to look for her -- I always liked her.
  19. I really want to like this show, but what aggravates me is that she rushes through segments. I have it on now, and they are talking about hairdryers. I would have liked for her to quit rushing the guests -- I got very little out of this segment. I wanted to know more about the different dryers, but Whitney wouldn't allow the guests to elaborate on anything. If you're going to cover a topic, then do it right.
  20. A friend of mine who lives in the neighborhood near Briar Forest & Kirkwood called the owner of the complex regarding its status, and she was told that it is going to be reburbished and become "Grade A" apartments. We'll see.
  21. So what do you think is going to happen at Channel 13 since they just hired a news meteorologist? LOL about Radar -- if you go to the "News Team" page on click2houston, the weather team is: Frank Billingsley Jason Brewer Anthony Yanez Radar The Weather Dog
  22. He was on in the mornings on Channel 2. Click to see Isiah Carey's blog
