Houston Texans' general manager Rick Smith said a couple of teams have inquired about quarterback David Carr's availability. The Texans are hoping to get a third-round pick that could escalate to a second-round pick. Carr, 28, has two years remaining on his contract at $5.5 million this year and $6 million in 2008. The team is eyeing Denver quarterback Jake Plummer as a potential replacement. Plummer enjoyed the three best seasons of his career when Houston Coach Gary Kubiak served as the Broncos' offensive coordinator. Acting like Dr. King? y'all tickle me, for real. But, I'm glad you realize that you don't have any proper common sense, I applaud you on that note. On the other hand, you bringing up old stuff that been said a week, or two weeks ago? If you had READ! I state my apologizes that I was off topic. But no, you and your so-called Gary friend insisted on making fun of my statements. Everybody moved on except y'all two. Now, that's what I call Assinine!

I say trade Carr! David haven't did nothing is his 5 years in the NFL. DON'T keep this guy on the roster! Minnesota is willing to give Texans 4th round draft pick for Carr, that's what Minnesota newspaper states. But, I think the Texans won't go for that deal. Either way, Carr is gone from Houston. If you keep this man on your roster Mr. McNair, your ticket sales will decline. People will show up when the Texans start winning games. y'all may not like Jake Plummer, but y'all will hear his name all over Houston in the next couple months. Matter in fact, Jake Plummer mention that he likes to play for Kubiak again. Plummer was successful under Kubiak for three years. You think Kubiak and Rick Smith going to look over Plummer? I DON'T THINK SO!

Yes, I was stunned when I heard that San Diego fired Marty Schottenheimer. I mean, that's a damn good coach. Every year the Chargers are in the postseason no matter what. They even got rid of Drew Brees, and still went to the playoffs with a 3rd year quarterback Philip Rivers. Dallas picked too soon! In other news, the Texans got some offers about trading David Carr. Rick Smith (GM), didn't announced who the teams were, but Oakland and Minnesota are looking at trading one of theirs, or a pick for Carr. Remember, Oakland is putting Jerry Porter and Randy Moss on the trade block. Minnesota said they don't want (QB) Brad Johnson. Could the Texans trade Carr for Moss, or Porter? Imagine, Moss and Andre!!!

Texas Medical Center Skyline Update
houstonsemipro replied to WestGrayGuy's topic in Texas Medical Center
Construction has started on the Methodist Hospital Research Institute building in the Texas Medical Center. The 420,000-square-foot advanced medical research facility will have five floors of laboratory space, imaging equipment and operating rooms for research. In early 2004, Methodist's board approved $100 million to create an endowment to launch the institute. Later that year, the board committed an additional $30 million to fund a neurological institute as part of the research center. The project is being built next to the Methodist Hospital on Bertner Avenue and it should be completed in 2009. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/4542550.html -

The Houston Pavilions is scheduled to break ground by the third week of this month, according to its developers. "The project will be completed in October of 2008 as originally planned," William Denton and Geoffrey Jones said in an e-mail. Houston Pavilions won't have a residential component as once envisioned, but another nearby property — the long-vacant Texaco Building — is said to be the next residential conversion project with more than 400 units. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/4542550.html -
Stallworth, or Rhodes would be great picks. But, I just hope Kubiak and Rick Smith have their eyes open for this year free agents.

Okay, let's get back on track guys. Sorry for the off topic discussion earlier on the thread. Now, I have more news for the Texans and other teams free agents. This what I pick around and found... Atlanta Falcons is putting WR Ashley Lelie in the free agents list this year. If y'all don't know about Lelie, he's a former Bronco under Kubiak. Ring a bell?? The Colts have to free up their salary cap, so they putting RB Dominic Rhodes, DT Corey Simon, DE Dwight Freeney and LB Cato June in the free agents list. QB Joey Harrington unlikely to remain on the Dolphins team's roster at his scheduled $3.48 million cap number. Harrington is also due a $1 million roster bonus in March, which the team is unlikely to pay. Furthermore, Houston is not the only team looking at Jake Plummer. Other teams are; Miami, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. Bears are taking intrested in Jeff Garica. Plus, Eagles general manager Tom Heckert said the team is unlikely to re-sign WR Donte' Stallworth before free agency starts. <----Look Texans!

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
houstonsemipro replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
Throughout this entire post all I've heard was hearsay statements. The info that some of y'all come up with is waaay off. Did we see a groundbreaking yet? No! If it's going to be any groundbreaking Channel 11, 13 and 2 should broadcast it, even the Houston Chroncile. They haven't post nothing on the Pavilion since sometime last year. I resreach my info before I post it on here, and some of y'all need to do the same besides listening to other people. Majority of info on this thread as been false. -

Excellent choice, Trae. Better yet, a Alamo Drafthouse, or StarCinema Grill. Make it a 10-12 screens. An Edwards, or a AMC I can't see happening downtown. -

I rather a cinema to take the place of the residental. All they need is 10-12 screen cinema. Angekia Theater is kinda far away from Main St. People and students from U of H Downtown would like to take the metrorail to the Pavilions to go see a movie. -

Still doesn't mean anything. When they brake ground, trucks, workers and a crane starts to move in that's when I'll say the Houston Pavilions is going up. Until then, I doubt it. -

y'all don't see it, cause half of y'all is blinded by it. It's prejudice all around us, but it's just invisible to the eye. Yes, it's the 21st Century, but racism is still here, just in a different way. So what Houston is diverse. Look at L.A. for instance. They're more diverse then Houston and all I hear is racism about that city. So, diverse means nothing to me, just more population and more crime.

Texas Southern University Campus Developments
houstonsemipro replied to 713 To 214's topic in Going Up!
I say let U of H take over TSU, or A&M. TSU will forever be in debt, cause first their not trustworthy on the job. They always stealing. When money comes in for the school, they spend so much and pocket the rest (look at North Forest School District. The poorest school district in Texas, and they always stealing). I'm not saying close TSU down, but if they don't make no finiancal changes, the state will take over leaving U of H, or A&M to take things over. Hell, I would rather U of H take it over, cause they're across the street from each other.- 133 replies

It's no race card here, son! I'm just saying when the last time you seen any Texas team with half of the staff is black? And if you ask me, Texas is one of most prejudice states.

Well, if you look around the NFL there not enough black coaches. Furthermore, when the last time Texas in general had almost all black coaching staff? Never. Cowboys? Never. Texans? Never, until now. Almost half of the staff now is black coaches. Could this be the works of the new GM, Rick Smith? Hell, they may decide on a black quarterback this offseason, or in the draft? Question: When was the last time you seen a black player on the Astros roster, or staff? Never! And people complain about that. They even boycott the Astros right in front MMP.

The Texans are getting more black coaches on their staff now. They just hired two of them already, and Kubiak still in talks with Frank Bush(black) from Cardinals to be the assistant head coach/defensive. Kubiak and Rick Smith is really doing a good job so far in the staff.
