My prediction for the World Series. Chicago and Houston.

Jalapenos, the colorful restaurant near the corner of Kirby and Westheimer, will close its doors a the end of the year to make way for a huge new development on the land where the eatery has stood for 18 years.

Houston is the slowest damn city. Hell, look at San Antonio and Dallas, even Austin building alot of projects left and right. What Houston building? Strip centers here and there. Houston is 4th largest city, and acting like it's 50th.
So, don't tell me use a little intelligence replying to the thread. Houston have a hard time building more light rail, while Dallas already building more in their metros.
Hard time for people to cater to downtown houston. Why? cause bad parking, not enough entertainment. Hell, Austin got more entertainment in their downtown then us. Get real dude! Are you blind? This a slow ass city we're in. They trying their best to uplift downtown, but people still won't cater. People rather go to the Woodlands, Sugarland, Galveston, Kemah, Katy, etc. then go to downtown.
Downtown comes alive when something like Astros playing, going to the playoffs, maybe the World Series. The Rockets playing, and maybe those sorry ass Texans do something. You can not go downtown on a weekend and see alot of people. Right now you can , cause the Astros on the edge going to the World Series.

I believe there were two locations of the brother duo "2-K Sandwich Shop" that also did catering and had wonderful dessert. Their last name, or maybe their first name, started with a "K" that's why their restaurant was called "2-K".
Back in the 1950's they had a location in Midtown at 4006 South Main Street.
They also had a (first?) location in Downtown at Walker St. At San Jacinto St. I believe that was in the 1940s though.

Every since that damn hurricane katrina, and hurricane rita. Houston has slowed down alot. I guess they still have their minds on the louisiana people, instead of the city.
But, how much you wanna bet the Pavilions get delayed until next year sometime? It never fails in Houston.

I have a funny feeling that this project is going to be on hold, or either a set back like the other projects around Houston.
Houston is good for that type of stuff.

Dallas dining/movie theater operator to enter Houston market
Houston Business Journal
Movie Tavern Partners LP is ready to roll with the opening of two Houston-area dining/theater complexes in the next six months.
The first Movie Tavern location, which will be called Movie Tavern-Richey Road, will be a seven-screen theater at Richey Road and Interstate 45. Movie Tavern will occupy the space formerly held by the AMC 8 theater at The Commons at Commerce Park North Shopping Center.
The Richey Road location, originally constructed in 1984, was vacated by AMC in the late 1990s and has remained vacant since that time.
The 27,800-square-foot theater is being totally gutted and reinvented, with one of the eight screening areas being converted into a commercial kitchen.
This location was previously slated to become an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, but Dallas-based Movie Tavern Partners purchased the assets out of bankruptcy in August after the franchise company that was to develop that specific Alamo Drafthouse location filed bankruptcy last April.
The Richey Road location is slated to open in time for the holidays.
The second project, which will be called Deerbrook Movie Tavern, will be a six-screen theater just west of the intersection of Highway 59 and FM 1960 in the former General Cinemas 6 at the Deerbrook Shopping Center.
Deerbrook Movie Tavern will open in late spring 2006.
The Deerbrook location in Humble, originally constructed in 1981, has been vacant since General Cinemas closed the theater in the late 1990s.
The 20,800-square-foot theater is also being totally renovated in similar fashion to the Richey Road facility.

..go 'stros!
hehe..
Yes. GO ASTROS! Astros going to the Championship! I'm so excited for the Astros. To bad the Texans won't see a championship game for along time.
-
Okay, you can stick a fork in the Texans now, they're done. They lost to the Titans which leaves the Texans an 0-4 record. Seahawks is up next, that's 0-5. After that week is the Clots, that's 0-6.
These guys are... I'm just speechless now.

I think Bob Mcnair is one of the top head owners on the NFL committee, or something like that.
-
Man, listen. The reason why Miami won cause Houston is a high revenue team in the NFL. The owners didn't want all the money going to Houston, so they awarded Miami.
Houston can host any event like any other city in America, even better. Hell, we got the Houston Pavilions coming up, and even the Astrodome hotel and convention entertainment facility coming up also.
This is really a bunch of bullshit!
I also strongly know that all these low revenue teams need to stop hatting on Houston.

I thought they shipped the rest of the evacuees somewhere in ARK before Hurricane Rita? Is there still evacuees left?

Why y'all talking about this here? This should be in New Orleans, not here.

Any news on the Super Bowl 2010 revote on Oct. 6?
-
If they lose Sunday against Titans. They can kiss the baby for this season.
The only Houston team that I'm really proud of is the Astros, and the Rockets. I'll be tuned in Wednesday's playoff game... Astros vs. Braves!
-
I truly beleive the Texans won't even reach the .500 mark this year again. My prediction... 4-12 or 6-10.
-
Do you think Dallas metro population will catch up to Chicago's metro first? Since Dallas has more metro population then Houston.
-
Give them time? How much time they need? Week 8? Week 13? or better yet week 17? If they don't have it by now, they never will.
Enough is enough, and to much stinks!

Texans lost again this time to the Bengals. The Texans is going to be another Oilers. The fans will not show up for games, and it will be alot of boos in the stadium.
The Oilers was going down hill until Earl Campbell came on broad. Someone, or something have to uplift the Texans. They played better last year, then this year.
Texans are now 0-3. Next week Titans comes to Houston, then they got the Clots. Titans and Texans, that's a toss up game, but I truly think the Texans will win and get their first victory for the 2005 season.

I don't know Cinco. I think it's due to funds.

Almost every weekend I'll go to the movies.

Where did you get your info on a 20 screen theatre?
They mention it on channel 13 news. I guess I'm the only one watch to the news. Whatever Denver Pavilions have, the Houston's Pavilions will have too, maybe more.
The developer mentions that the project will be similar to Denver's, and Denver has an 20 screen theater.
It's really common sense people. Use your noodles.
