  1. You may me thinking of the Navaway Theatre, located on Navigation Blvd, just west of Wayside Drive. My cousins lived on Ave. Q and Wayside when I was a child and only went to this theatre maybe 2 or 3 times.

  3. Nope- I lived near Jackson Jr. High School near Polk and Altic, which was near Hughs Tool. The area that I lived in was called "Eastwood".
  4. Great photo... this was the 'Wayside' Theatre, located on the NE corner of Telephone Rd @ Wayside Drive. It was owned and operated by Interstate Theatres - they also operated the Santa Rosa @ Telephone Rd @Park Place, and the Eastwood at Telephone Rd @ Leeland, and the Broadway on Broadway near Manchester. I grew up in the "East End" and worked as an user at the Eastwood and the Santa Rosa.
  5. For many years this was the Avalon Theatre.... fell on hard times when Interstate Theatres opened the Broadway Theatre nearby. It folded and later was reopened showing Porn films.... this too failed, probably because of the VHS explosion and you could rent your movies and not been seen attending the Avalon!
