Photos from today! So massive!
Wonder if they'll have beer on tap? Or maybe an exclusive H-E-B brewery? Gotta compete with Whole Foods Post Oak!

Maybe Jeff Bezos could buy the Chronicle. If we don't get HQ2, he could buy it as a consolation prize for us. I'm not sure what he's done with the Washington Post, but it's seriously hard to imagine his making the Chronicle worse than it already is.
Amazon/Beezos is a sensitive subject for some, but I've read that the Washington Post is now in troubles with employee benefits.
Beezo's is only matching 1% of the employee 401k's at the Washington Post.
Another article:

QuoteAccording to the memo, management wants to end the paper’s long-standing practice of across-the-board percentage annual pay raises to create an “unprecedented” merit pay system and cut severance benefits. It also refuses to increase the 401(k) match from 1 percent.
The merit system would potentially freeze even inflation adjusted increases in pay for some employees for up to 30 months while others could get up to a 4 percent increase. Management has also proposed to cut severance pay and require any employee who accepts severance to waive their legal rights. When you do away with routine raises only the superstar reporters will wind up getting them.

Thanks for bumping the thread.
Not sure if it's related but I just noticed several construction signs on 610 near the Bellaire/Bissonnett/Fournace exit. Think the signs specified "Construction begins in the next 1/2 mile"

I remember this land. Thought it was going to be a medical office

Do we start a new thread for the 610/59 interchange?
This is going to be a madhouse and I might need a place to vent Plus construction photos, etc.

They are two related projects. Uptown is doing the lanes in Post Oak Blvd. TxDOT and Metro are doing the lanes from Post Oak Blvd to the Northwest Transit Center. Last I saw, construction of the 610 bus lanes was anticipated to start in late 2017.
Thanks.
610 will now have two different remodel phases! Going to be a madhouse for the next decade.
The Elevated 610 West Loop Express Lanes and then this 610 Bus Lanes.

The express lanes are definitely not starting construction. There is a long way to go in the pre-construction process, including more public meetings. However, the bus lanes structure from Memorial to Post Oak (north of San Felipe) is scheduled to receive bids in December. The tree removal could be related to the bus lanes, or could be unrelated to highway work.

I thought the bus lanes was apart of the Uptown improvements project. Found the thread

I thought it was for the 610/59 interchange reconstruction.
I'm confused. There are two different 610 projects coming in 2018?
The 610/59 Interchange is the same as the 610 Elevated Express Lanes? Should be the same project, right? The 610 elevated express lanes goes from the 59 Spur to I-10. That whole 4-mile stretch of 610.
I might be making it more confusing.

Was riding in a car on the way to Spindletap Brewery for the Operation Juice Drop release party.
"Little Dubai" with Amegy's new bldg
The signage is so tiny! From the freeway, you cannot make it out. Guess residential towers don't put huge signage logos ala Amegy Bank.

Started?
Pulling up trees a long the side of the freeway for further development?

Was watching KPRC's aerial footage days after the so called "800 year flood" and caught Memorial Green on TV.
Memorial Drive was flooded but the front of this development was all white and clean!
