  1. From RadioInsight: "Torey Doucette’s One Point Media acquires Brokered 1340 KOLE Port Arthur TX from Birach Broadcasting for $400,000."
  2. I went bowling today! That's funner than you guys' days.
  3. I just checked from San Antonio, and there's nothing on 900 right now, except the Mexican station.
  4. I just checked from San Antonio, and there's nothing on 900 right now, except the Mexican station.
  5. I believe this is it. http://www.dirtyjuicyburgers.com/#!aboutdjb/cfvg I'll have to try it if I'm ever in the area. I love the obscure burger options on the menu. Cream cheese and peanut butter on my hamburger sounds interesting for sure!
  6. LOL! I was thinking about stations like KYND, KGBC, and KSET... Stations which are currently decent but don't stream. And then there's the ham radio and other stuff those can pick up, depending on which receiver you use. If it's on a tower it should pick up loads of stations from out of town during tropo, and probably even not during such times. I don't listen to the weak foreign and generic stations. I just check on them and sometimes might give updates.
  7. I honestly couldn't tell you if they use coordinates. If they do, I guess someone could use fake ones. Maybe they could try either putting one in a warehouse, like you said. If not, you should be good. I haven't tried to put my own receiver up there so I wouldn't know. Hey 93Q you should put one on your tower.

    Fiesta

Who's partying and celebrating Fiesta this year? Every year I want to go to all the events and have fun, but we usually only go to one parade, if that. I guess that's what I get from growing up in town, and taking it all for granted. Like the Alamo and River Walk, Fiesta gets boring after you've done it a few times. LOL I think the main turnoff is the insane crowd that goes downtown at peak times.
  9. Have you guys heard of this website? http://www.globaltuners.com/ "GlobalTuners provides access to remotely controlled radio receivers all over the world. You can tune the receivers to listen to remote radio broadcasts, air traffic, amateur transmissions and much more. Anywhere, at any time. You can also share your own receiver, it's a lot of fun for everyone and you get free access to the Premium membership options." Those of you who have the necessary equipment and know-how should share your own receivers, so we can all hear what's going on on the dial in your area. There are a couple located in San Antonio, but no others in Texas. I've used it off and on for about two years, and it's fun!
  10. "cuckoo for cocoa puffs" Haha As for the Christian pop music, I think SA needs another station playing that stuff on FM, particularly for the west side where Air 1's 97-7 doesn't reach.
  11. I got it. Thanks, 93! Good to see you around man!
  12. He's been invited! By the way I agree with you about KYND, Purple.
  13. I mentioned you leaving, and I wasn't banned. LOL you can tell me anything you want, that's what PMs are for. I'll see what I can do about San Antonio.
  14. Have you suggested that to Bill, Purple? I can send him a private MSG on RadioDiscussions pointing him to this thread.
  15. I've noticed most of the frequencies in my hometown of San Antonio are fulll also. I'm still wondering when the FCC is going to open up more frequencies... They're all getting clogged in big cities with all these translators.
  16. Thanks for the invite, Stan! Hi again Purple! Wow it's really a blast from the past, just on a new forum! Only thing is, now I'm curious about who told you I was alone over there. I'm not sure if you still read those without commenting. I appreciate whoever it was, in any case. It's good to see all of you again! That RD forum was really getting boring.
