  1. It's going to be a noisy 18 months at the Cosmo. I lived there during the construction of the BHPBilliton tower. I left with audio hallucinations. It's going to be a noisy 18 mos for those living in the Cosmo. I lived there during the construction of the BHP Billiton tower. I left with audio hallucinations.
  2. I noticed that they are not proceeding with tree planting, concrete base and paver surface along the Post Oak Blvd frontage and have just paved the sidewalk with asphalt. This could be an indication that the property owner is planning on starting demo construction soon. Same deal on the northwest corner of San Felipe and Post Oak where the Dinerstein bldg is planned.
  3. Uptown Park continues to clear out. It was reported today that the UT Coop is leaving the retail center in early September. The pod where it exists already has several vacancies, and more exist elsewhere in the development. Could the owners be letting the leases lapse in preparation for redevelopment?
  4. I've lived in this area since 2001, including 90 days at the Hotel Granduca. I walked through Uptown Park the other day and noticed that for the first time there were a number of vacancies, some with considerable space. In addition to Anejo, there was a restaurant called Champps (?) that had gone black, in addition to the Baker furniture space and several other smaller storefronts. Add structured parking and you could thoughtfully redevelop and intensify the land use.
  5. Well as taught by Donald Trump, there are floors and then there are developer's floors, facts and alternative facts. In commercial real estate, apparently everyone in the game feels better living with the lie.
  6. I live in Uptown and believe that its the most integrated mixed use neighborhood in the city. Nowhere else do you get the density of apartments, offices, retail, restaurants and hotels. Since I moved here the Memorial Villages I have become less car-centric and I make a point of walking to the pharmacy, bank, supermarket, retail store , etc. in all sorts of weather. I even walked my Thanksgiving turkey into the house from Whole Foods. I don't think Midtown has as anywhere near the green space that we have in the Galleria/Uptown area and our TIRZ has done a great job with the streetscape, including sidewalk lighting , to encourage pedestrian activity.
