Amazon has made it a point to innovate. What if for their employees living downtown they offer a taxi service from the docks at Allen's Landing to the KBR site. Talk about alternative transportation! On top of that, guess where that drops you off at?? Along the rail line! An employee could live anywhere along the light rail and just get off on the last stop in DT and then board the water taxi service!
I know this is a pipe dream. But where there is a will there is a way!

Regardless of exact Houston location how does the port play into this? Don't we have two massive amazon distribution centers in town?
Anyone know when they are set to announce winner?

I think Randall's and even the Kroger's may not be long for this world. Especially if HEB moves forward.
**edit: Some stores, not the entire companies.
Go go to any HEB and people are crammed in there. Head to Randall's and its crickets. Kroger is better but not by much.
I'm hoping the next Central Market is in Midtown or Downtown. Space them out a bit if the company is not going to build as many.

Wait, I thought all these business were going to fail after the super bowl?? No way is this accurate.
All sarcasm aside it's great to see this being reported. Mainly for those who still do not believe or understand it is not just the delusion of HAIF posters but rather the reality of the transformation of downtown.

I've heard a pharmacy will open in one of the retail spots here. If finalized it is great to see we are starting to get this type of development.

Yes. This whole block seems to be at a standstill.
Thought the park was on the cusp of opening. But, that was a couple months ago.
I don't know about the park delays but the building seems to be going in phases. The only side not pictured is the Travis street side. Most of the focus appears to have been on that side for the last 2-3 weeks.

I'm going out on a limb here but guessing this property will now offer Amazon lockers.

Mods, @Urbannizer or who ever else, can we have the discussion from the previous pages moved to more appropriate forums? Perhaps a portion into a transportation forum and the other into downtown restaurant sub forum?

They have Royal Blue grocery stores in Austin. Would be a great add if correct.

I was under the impression this was a restoration project. This looks like they are simply building out a hall. Anyone found renderings of the inside?
