  1. ^^So maceo9903. It's good to see you like Houston but curious. What does Houston have that Atlanta doesn't. As far as i know Atlanta has trendier developments, better mass transit, and hills.

He's already responded to this question here http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...pic=5491&st=100

    post 135 and 139

See maceo9903 your not the only one that brings up something that has been brought up in the past...it happens to the best of us :D

Now who all is going to the lighting thingy this Sat between 7pm- midnight

  2. so i have a friend that just got hired at AA and they posters downtown were just for marketing purposes.. There is no AA going to be built downtown. it was all BUZZ
The retailer had been scouting locations here for a while. Its first local store was slated for downtown's Sakowitz building, whose owners are getting a grant from the city of Houston as part of a new retail incentive program for that area.
The downtown AA still looks like a go.

The company said while there have been delays, the downtown store is still a go.
  3. At least for now, my friends and I will have a little block party outside my crib for the 1st round American games, but I still haven't heard anything from the City Of Houston about Main Street the way they did for the Astros

I watched something the other day on TV, how the US is ranked number 4 but not many people in the US seem to care.

  4. Imagine the Winter Music Conference in Houston. Or some kind of electronica-based festival of it's size. It's be HUGE, and look great with Houston's skyline. AND imagine if Power of Houston came back, but with a 24-hour feel to it for 5 days...

What was the power of Houston. I know it was a fireworks show at the end but what was the point? How many years did it happen? I take it was getting too expensive to continue

  5. Usually it's because no one from the area has bought a franchise yet. These companies are eager to expand into all sorts of new areas, but usually can't (or won't) do anything until someone decides to take on the task. If you're looking for a career change, it could be a good opportunity. From what I've read, new franchisees tend to get a lot of help from the company setting up.

I thought Starbucks didn't franchise....so it said on there site a couple years ago. That's why I bought some stock, I haven't really kept up with the company

  6. How come there is no Starbucks in the Northline area or in the mid to lower income level areas? Everyperson, regarding of income likes coffee.

Yeah but not everyone regardless of income is willing to shell out X amount for a cup of coffee when you can get your cup from home or a corner store for much cheaper. Starbucks caters to where the starbucks drinkers are or could be if there is a need there will be.

  7. Rather than hijack yet another thread to Dallas, start another topic in the Dallas section, or read some of the existing topics, where I can assure you it has been beat to death.

Like http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...?showtopic=6306 thread. Sorry maceo9903 I know your new and all and appreciate your Houston enthusiasm. But the questions you posed have been beaten into the ground. Look under the Dallas topic ;)

  8. Just beautiful! I remember the park when they were still building it, back in January, but, I really should take a visit to see the completed project!

We have come a long way. Here are some pics originally posted by HiI on another thread. They were posted back in Nov

  9. Thanks subdude :D

If there were a Dumbotron how many of you cockroaches plan to go stare at the pretty neon on a regular basis?

I stare at a screen at work, watch plenty of TV(news and some shows) at home. When I do watch TV at home I just turn it off or change the channel when the comercials come on. Why, when I want to get away from TV by walking around and seeing my loveley city would I want to be bombarded by ADs on the side of buildings. Yall all know that Jim Adler, Hilton Furniture guy,Matress Mack and other awfull companies will buy the airtime and ram there ads down our throats. What are we suppose to walk around with our eyes closed

Just what we need a 50ft
