  1. It aint just the liberal biased media (so called). It isn't being covered ANYWHERE today. Got some coverage yesterday not today. They all must have realized there wasn't much to the story and what a political stunt this was on Santorum's part. I hope that loser gets spanked next November.

    Back on track here....

Now there saying that these weapons seem to date back to the Iran/Iraq War. And that the Department of defense states that "these are not the weapons that we went to war for" that these "WMDs" are essentially harmless

It appears that Santorum is getting his butt spanked(poll wise) which does explain his claim about the WMDs

  2. Nice, tam. Even put the German version link, so Nowitzski can read it.

Mark Cuban really illustrated the pitfalls of an owner making himself the center of attention. For weeks, he was a darling of the media, "new kind of owner", etc. But, by Game 5, he had become the media's favorite target. His over-the-top whining, combined with his childish rants and antics, had everyone concentrating on him instead of the team. Many commentators even blame him for the Mavs problems, claiming his constant complaints about "hard fouls" came back to bite him with the Stackhouse ejection.

In the end, what we found was not the NBA being rigged, but basketball fans (outside of Dallas) being unimpressed with big-mouthed billionaires. By the end of the series, I could not even root for the Mavs. It's a shame, since Cuban, other than his mouth, is a very good owner...anyone remember the Mavs of the 90s?

As much as I wanted Dallas to win just so a Championship would return to Texas and so that Dallas would finallay get a much deserved NBA championship. Mark Cuban made me wish even more for them not to win. This is kind of like "Ha HA you annoying little prick"

  3. Anyone else see this in the paper, about the Intermodal

As a transit hub, he said, the terminal would become the new north end of the Red Line, whose tracks would rise about 30 feet onto the plaza.

To continue north, riders would descend to street level and transfer to the planned North Line, whose buses on guideways would leave the terminal on its west side and curve north to North Main.

If ridership grows enough to justify converting the North Line to light rail, its tracks would enter the terminal complex directly on North Main and connect to the Red Line, Gast said.

Metro's planned East End and Southeast guided rapid transit lines, which would also be converted to light rail as ridership increased, would enter the terminal complex from the east.

Eventual commuter rail lines from U.S. 290 and the Katy Freeway would enter from the west. Union Pacific would also continue to operate freight tracks there.

For buses, Gast said, there would be four bays initially and room for another 10.

Sounds like the planning is coming along fine :P

  4. No not at all. The 32 teams are broken up into 8 groups of 4. Within each group a team will play the other three teams one time. You get 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. The top two teams from each group typically advance.

The US was seeded with Czech Republic, Italy and Ghanna. The Czech team is highly ranked (#2) and the Italians are some peoples pick to win it all. So for the US to advance the next round (16 teams) they probably need to bee Italy and Ghanna. It is a tall order at this point.

    Thanks ;)

  5. I was down there for most of the event. There was a huge crowd, and I think they didnt expect that many. but I thik the organisers have learned and will be better prepared next time when they open the next segment. As for the walk coming to an end near bayou place, i don't think that was part of the event, that segment is the Sesquentenial Park and wasn't really focused on(they should of though). As for the Sabine street bridge being cut off, I think that was because fireworks were set off from there (saw them around 7 or 8) then it was reopened when I passed by around 1130pm(well after the fireworks).

  6. is that the little square above the D on the main street side? I just walked past (that place stinks almost as bad on the outside as the inside!! WHO eats that chicken???)

the ornamental concrete is indeed back there...I wonder what shape it is in...

Now is this the one across the street fom Foley's ? If it is....this place has diffinately changed. I ate the chicken there once back in the 80s the problem with the chicken now is that it's probably the same chicken

    post 100!

  7. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi reported dead on ABC news

The head of al-Qaeda in Iraq, who has given the US the slip since the begining of the war was killed in Iraq.....It's about time

What's next? Less IEDs or attacks....or do they continue with new leader?

  8. I was there last week with a friend who had some business(so didn't get to look long) But I was thinking the same as above. Growing up I went a lot due to parents, in my early 20s never, now in my late 20s I can see myself going several times a year. It has soooo much potential and is starting to shine. There were buildings being built and houses getting renevated. Keep it up :D

  9. I walk by about every day for lunch. There was a spray-painted sign a couple weeks ago saying "Construction starts 5/28/06". There were some people who parked down at the bayou for free. Now the gates are closed and today there was a bulldozer and a backhoe there parked at at the bottom of the bayou (almost under the bridge). Maybe it is unrelated utilities being run or something. But here's to hoping!

    Cheers!

I saw the backhoe I thought it was for the next phase of the bayou walk. I'll look at the pics and see if I see the sign, was it up front?

  10. Fantastic.. they're finally doing something with this site.

I don't know about that. So far it still looks like wishful thinking. I was down there yesterday and the "for sale" sign is still up and look at the original thread it started about a year ago with no hard references. I think a 24hr coffee shop would be nice there with bookstore of course....the canoe rental could be based out from under the Main St. bridge

  11. I don't think any one person from Houston has posted this much about a Houston thread. If so it's probably a much longer thread that spans a longer period of time. 28 times in this short of a thread and in this short of a time is obsessive in my book ;)

  12. Why would anyone with even the slightest clue about the world around them be envious of Dallas. There are far much nicer places to be envious of. If you like high density urban landscapes you would be envious of NYC, CHI, or SF, not Dallas. If you like year round nice weather, you would be envious of San Diego, not Dallas. If you like tacky lights, you would be envious of Las Vegas. Beaches? Mountains? Entertainment? Museums? Only a complete idiot would be envious of Dallas.

Dallas doesn't offer anything of any real significance that Houston doesn't. Even the pretentious set knows that.

 Always putting it in perspective and keeping it real Mister X :D

  13. well excuse the hell out of me. i guess some people got more time on their hands to spend reading every single thread that comes up on this forum.

Like I said it happens to the best of us :D no hard feelings guy. your right I'm boared at work and some do log on way more than others.
