Thank you for giving us every possibility ever.
Yeah it was an ambien induced post. It was funny to me then...

My intuitive sources tell me it will be built quicker than expected or slower than expected. It could also potentially be built right when we expected it. No word on if it might not even get built yet. I'll keep you guys posted.

I couldn't care less if we pass Chicago because it's an unfair advantage considering the size of Houston. It's a shallow victory with little meaning. I just want to see residential projects like this continue to develop so we can actually have a real urban core.

I'm confused. Based on that picture the top of the building looks to be about 390 feet.
-
It's moments like these when I realize how much room for growth I have as a person. I clicked on the link to see confirmation of the downgrade in height as opposed to showing concern for the individual. Very unfortunate for that person and his family.

Is it a new condo or office space? Normally when referencing office space they refer to square feet, which they do here and in MF they reference units and floors.
Plus the architect website says it will be added to the tunnel system.
I think the new building will be office space.
Well the article does say, "The high-rise gained an incentive through the Downtown Living Initiative program..." Another quote, "Rents will be comparable to One Park Place in downtown with its target market as the urban dweller." I just don't see anything about the proposed building.
-
Renovation and a new condo.
Where does it say anything about the proposed building? The whole article is about the renovation. I see a picture of the building along with the Texaco building but that's it. The acquisition of the land is a huge plus though.

In addition to banquet/meeting spaces, special discount hotel rooms, dry cleaners, dry storage, parcel delivery, delivery freight, dumpster/garbage collection, valet, put put green, beach volleyball court, convenience store, office space, security offices, nightclub, etc. and covered parking.
That's it?

Are they building next to the train tracks?

EDIT - Link added: http://m.pinterest.com/pin/335518240960212731/
The Pinterest link posted earlier also contains a shot of the PDF for this building, where Stream/Essex describes it as a 41-story building.
That rendering is still 50 floors though.

Agreed. But keep in mind that there is at least an even chance that Nativehoustonian has misreported what was said.
This x1000
He seems pretty clueless about the project in general when the articles are in this thread to read. Personally, I find it highly unlikely he talked to anyone.
-
He also mentioned that top deck (crown)
So leaves me to think that it will have the same design
Same design but shortened. Keep reading to where he says it's an old rendering.
-
If swstig says it is than I believe so.
He already said the building is 41 floors which means both renderings are from the previous version.
-
It perspective view man.
It still looks like the older version before being scaled down. I don't think this rendering is accurate just like the first rendering.
-
Old rendering?
-
Barely noticed it connects with the south deck. That's a better idea than what I originally thought they would do. I wonder how the interior will look. I was always fond of the insides for Commerce Street and Shea Street buildings.
-
The rendering looks much better than I was expecting. The cost is ridiculous but UHD has been ranking in some serious dough for a while now. Also is that the welcoming center to the right? I assumed they would put it on the eastern side since it would be connected to the deck and next to the main offices and elevators.
Edit: I guess I should of read the article. It looks like they are moving some offices and adding some new features. I love the fact it will incorporate views of downtown!

I can already see this complex getting resistance from the community. The rendering is pretty deceiving... you can tell it's going to have much more of an impact than it's leading on. Personally, I'm glad they are tearing down that old apartment complex but 8 stories is unprecedented for the Woodland Heights. They're crying foul over Morrison Heights which is around 5 stories.
I think Morrison Heights will be more imposing despite only being five floors because of it's proximity to other houses. I would imagine people from Woodland Park Place are the most annoyed by the Morrison mid-rise.

I like that it folds inward too, what lights?
The lights at the base that also accentuates the inward fold. I don't know if it is supposed to be indicative of the final product or just added to enhance the rendering.
-
I don't like the look of the apartment complex but I love the Hispanic community there. Very unfortunate for the residents but it was only a matter of time. I always wondered how long the complex was going to last during this boom.
-
Awesome! It seems they are not going to touch Frank's Pizza and the old Cabo building. I was really worried that.
-
They were putting in some work last night.
-
So will it be a higher capacity garage? Taller maybe?
At least 40 floors and maybe a crown.

"The One Main Faculty/Staff Garage soon will be demolished to make room for a new replacement garage, tenant space on top of that garage, and an adjoining Welcome Center. The tenant space will create a more unified one-stop student service experience on what will become an expanded 3rd floor. The Welcome Center will provide an open, inviting point-of-entry for prospective students and visitors coming to UHD."

Posted
I honestly have no idea how Uptown will accommodate for all this upcoming density.
