  1. It is only a rendering.  Once completed I believe it will appear very sleek.  It seems it may be almost 800 feet high.  It is also bringing more jobs to Houston.  I think Hines is next at 609 Main St.  I have heard that a very tall skyscraper will go up by Minute Maid Park because it is out of HOU airport flight pattern.  With the tax abatements a lot of buildings have already been announced.  I believe a little boom is coming for downtown.  I wonder what Trump is up to?

  2. A lot Of Premier members complain because there are over 50 standbys for the upgrade list on my last flight. This gentleman told me he had 120,000 premier qualification miles. All his flights were on Lufthansa Airlines. You also need 4 flight segments with United so he lost his status. He should have enrolled in Miles and More with Lufthansa. He did not read the Premier benefits on united.com. To receive 1K status for 2014-2015 you need the miles and spend $10 thousand. I think they are trying to ween the non premier members. My friend in the UK gold with BA said we are too spoiled.

  3. Please accept my apology. I'm not insulting customers in economy. But it is competition with all the airlines. WN sold Air Tran planes to Delta Airlines, and they are shutting down Comair. Southwest does not have first class. One first class customer is the same amount for 5 in economy. I did not mean to insult our forum.

  4. Same here. Elite has been long gone. Why are you complaining? My friend is a Gold member with BA there highest level. They get no regional upgrades and global premier upgrades. They do not get comp upgrades. He works for Oracle and said we spoil our members. Next year I can spend $10,000 to keep my 1K status plus the miles to qualify for 2015. I just love the new planes.

  5. Again at the Paris airshow United ordered 35 A350-1000 aircrafts. That is also including the 787 already ordered. Delta, American, US Airways did not ordered any planes. The future will see how much they need to modernized their fleet.

  6. Today we announced an order with Airbus for new A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement converts our existing order for 25 A350-900s into A350-1000s and adds 10 firm orders for A350-1000s, giving us a total order of 35 aircraft. The increased seating capacity of the A350-1000 will enable us to replace older, less efficient aircraft currently serving long-range, high-demand markets. We expect delivery starting in 2018.

“We look forward to taking delivery of the A350-1000,” said Jeff Smisek, our chairman, president and CEO. “This is a modern, fuel-efficient and advanced-technology aircraft that our customers and co-workers will enjoy flying. It will be a great addition to our fleet, and will allow us to meet demand on larger, long-haul markets in our world-leading network.”

    The A350-1000 in United’s fleet

The A350-1000 is the largest member of the A350 WXB family and uses advanced materials including composites, titanium and aluminum alloys combined with the latest engine technology to make it lighter and more fuel efficient. The aircraft will consume approximately 20 percent less fuel per seat than the large widebody aircraft it will replace. It’s powered by new-generation Rolls-Royce Trent engines. The cabin will offer an improved customer experience with more headroom, wider panoramic windows and more overhead storage space.

  7. I believe the state and the city are trying to have the headquarters moved here.  This would be huge, Chevron is the third largest company with 245 billion in revenues.  Number three after ExxonMobil and Wal-Mart.  They have more employees here then California.  Something will happen, why have a empty lot just sitting there?
