Good !
It will be time for a celebration when this land is officially sold and that College in Austin fully realizes they cannot bully their way into a campus IN Houston.
"Bully"? They never "bullied" anyone. They bought the land, fair and square and clearly stated that it wasn't ever going to become a 4-year university. The advantages that it could have brought, on the other hand, are endless. Anyone who celebrates the loss of UT's presence here is shortsighted to say the least.

Never had the chance to try and In N Out burger but I know several people who have tried them and they love them. Worked with a guy who lived in California for years and asked him to compare them to Whataburger and he said there was no competition. Another friend who goes to Vegas and California all the time says the first thing he does is go to In N Out as soon as he lands. I want to try them so I can see for myself.
Prepare yourself for disappointment.

It’ll be almost the exact same height as the SkyHouse

I would have thought that a lot of the white area on Level I would have been retail. Do we know what it is, exactly? The areas devoted to retail don't seem that big, considering the grand market hall concept. Maybe they are just doing it in phases since that is a lot of retail space to fill all at once.
Also the portion on the right/east on level 1+2 is the proposed concert venue, I believe.
Is the basement usable space?- 2

Maybe not so baby... if it gets built, then it looks like it would be a 12 story podium with ~40 floors above. That could make it comparable to 609 main in height. IF the one on the right got built as shown, it would be edging into supertall territory.
I don’t know anything about this project, and don’t know how much those models accurately reflect what TAMU has planned for the site.

Google maps has updated the 3d imagery for the Med Center. Looks like it’s up to date as recent as Q1 2019.

The last structure (former golf building) was being demolished earlier this week.

The adjacent property is still labeled as Artesian Eclipse. Fingers crossed we someday get our Tim Burton toilet plunger tower.

Emporis height estimates need to be taken with a grain of salt. They calculate 13.3’ per floor if no official height is disclosed.

AD Players building is currently being reduced to a pile of rubble

I’ve been wondering when that site would be redeveloped! It’s right next to Greenway Plaza, directly south of the former XOM research campus development. Very prime piece of property.

That looks like the southwest portion, facing west down Dallas street. That portion was originally slated for low/mid rise apartments, retail, and the theater. It’s about 1/3 of the total land for regent square.

Very cool. Now imagine that pic when Midway + HEB develop on that open plot, and the BB&B inevitably gets torn down for something better.

I like this. Is the developer linked to the Bristol Parc? It would be nice if that building got a fresh coat of paint with this influx of capital. It might be the most tired looking (occupied) building in the whole city!

There was more soil testing today, and some survey flags throughout the property

This one has me very confused. HCAD verifies that “Artesian Eclipse” has owned the land at 2120 since at least Sept 2015. I can’t access any records before then. The same entity also owns 2202 Welch, a townhome about 2 lots west of the larger property. 2200 Welch (between those properties) is owned by an unrelated entity, as far as I can tell. My guess would be IF they ever broke ground here, they would use the townhome lot as a construction or sales office. But I have tried contacting the people listed on their website before, and I haven’t been able to get any info. So who knows.

Anyone else not in love with this design?
I’m trying really hard to be excited for it, but it’s just not doing anything for me. I know it’s better than an empty lot, and it’ll try to engage the ground level and have great amenities. But I worry this is the last large office tower we may be seeing in awhile, and I feel like this design is a missed opportunity.

I swear we've seen these on this site before, but I can't seem to find them. I share the same thoughts now as I did when I first saw them: huge step down from the initial design.

Found some renders! Looks like 8 stories with GFR along Westheimer.

Hey Urb, I don't think those images posted correctly

I much preferred the old proposal over this I10 feeder-road lookin building. This thing is so bleh. The old proposal would’ve brought excitement and a sense of cohesiveness to that stretch of Westheimer from 610 to the other end of highland village.

I'm diggin the funky retro vibe. I think it'll fit Montrose nicely!

Have we seen any renders of this one? With a 160' crane height, I'd imagine it'll be in the 10 story range.
