Still an awful lot of crackheads hanging around that part of town right near 59. I wouldn't want to live right there.

There are significant tenants negotiating for large chunks of space at both 609 and Capitol tower. Distinct possibility nothing comes of it but they're advanced discussions.
I'm more hopeful for capital tower so that one rises out of the ground

I drive by this complex from time to time. It's a very nice complex. The common areas along Eldridge look nice.

This is all fine and well, but if you don't have easy transport from airports to your convention area and easy transport to your high end shopping district (Galleria/Uptiwn) your city will get passed over. Because Houston doesn't have those things in the same location, you need to get conventioneers to them easily

Why does everyone have the right to live downtown? What's wrong with a all the affordable housing surrounding downtown? Does a 10 or 15 minute bus ride really put people out?

Do you actually think anyone would use commuter rail?
You think people wouldn't?

You can have it

I hope my post wasn't construed as attacking Catholicism. The previous comment just struck me as funny. I don't think architecture is a weak point for the Catholic church, generally speaking.
I'm catholic and I chuckled.

That'll look great with the new stone work.

Ever been to Chicago? There's large "urban" developments outside of the Loop. Large growing cities have the ability to support multiple centers.

Welcome to Houston.
Seems to be more violent every day

As well as completely bankrupt.
Haven't you heard, Houston already is bankrupt. Mayor Parker told us so when she took office.
I'm sure Campo is a smart guy, and knows the real estate development business well. However, it's beyond silly that he's The Guy in charge of Houston First and it's stated goal. How do convince others to have confidence in Houston, when the guy in charge doesn't seem to have any?

The old design looked like less of a prison, but I guess that doesn't matter?

umm, that garage sure is a beast
It is. Which is why I'm glad the residential tower next to it is of similar scale. It "neutralizes" the garages impact somewhat.

I hope he figures out how to cook a steak. I love Sorrento's. It's one of my favorite restaurants, but the last two times I've been with customers that ordered steak it had to be taken back. Medium rare to Sorrento meant a good surgeon could have saved it.

I would be surprised if they went with cm. that's too close to the other cm

No clue what it was, several more showed up as well as ambulances and tahoes. It appeared that smoke was coming out of the top. They were out there for around an hour then just left.
Six fire trucks show up at cvx tower every week

There was some chatter not too long ago about replacing Cain Hall with a hotel.
I might be misremembering. I thought it was next to Kyle, but It might have been Cain which is close to Kyle/MSC

Awesome. Nice hotels and entertainment near campus and Northgate will do incredibly well.
There is also talk of a full service hotel as part of the Kyle Field redevelopment. There's a campus master plan that shows a hotel and conference amenities near, or connected to Kyle Field.

"$850 million raised in 4 months"
That's impressive for cstat
Not surprised. College Station is a grossly underserved market.

Man, that's a beautiful building. Wish we would see it rise one day.

It's self explanatory. Right under 59 a block or two from this building is a hangout for a lot of crackheads. Have you ever been over there? Go to Ninfas for lunch and tell me what you see on the way.
