  1. Yes, they do if they are managed well. That is a complete generalization I have to say. In order for the city to achieve density it need to have a great mix of many things, and rental properties are in need too. You can't have one homogeneousness type of mold to build a city. It is like a bouquet of flowers. Yes one flower alone is beautiful, but many forming a bouquet is diversely beautiful and pleasing to the eyes. Additionally you may like some of the flowers. Others may like another flower better then the one you like. I well I like the whole bouquet. Ahhh! it is nice to receive flowers he-he I Just got some delivered from my-other-half
  2. I was in Lufkin this weekend for a wedding and I was talking to one of the guest. He stopped me and asked me if they had broken ground yet I said to what he said the pavilions downtown. He is all excited about that and cant wait for it to be built. He tells me that his family drives down to Houston's Galleria for Xmas shopping, and that his family has been doing so since the early part of the last century. Of course they have not shopped downtown for some time now and if this project gets built the tradition of shopping in houston downtown will finally continue. He thinks this project is wonderful. Of course, I must explain he is the exception, for his family has been part of Lufkins well to do for many years. For those of you who don't know Lufkin is a small city of about 35,000 in its city limits and the area although a little depressed by the exciting of Lufkin Industries the town has all the typical shoppes you can find in the Houston area.
  3. No that is separate the full name is LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch Here is the website LaCenterra
  4. I think what they mean is that Houston is developing mostly in a westward direction and this would place them in a middle of all that sprawl. Much like what happened to the Galleria.
  5. According to the web site the Village at Katy is strategically located 29 miles west of Houston on I-10, between US 90 and Pin Oak Road. Across from the Katy Mills Mall. The Village at Katy has been master planned to integrate the various aspects of life and force creative intersections between them. Life is simplified by pedestrian and vehicular access to all points of the development. http://www.thevillageatkaty.com/ http://www.hermesarchitects.com/homepage.html
  6. So being number one at any thing is not good? I would hope one day there wont be a USA There will be the United States of North America and Mexico city that dirty old place surpasses New York as the largest city in the U.S. of N.A. Lighten up it is not a complex or an obsession it is a discussion on what will likely happen But I totally agree with you on this part of your comment
  7. Why is that because you live there or because the traffic is horrible there at rush hour?
  8. Moved to The Village at Katy
  9. This place I think was opened in the early 90's the last time I think I drove by it I think it was back in 1998 or maybe 2000.

  11. Thank you! So the point is y'all the Houston Pavilions will have a slow start. We must remain focused, and get the east end of downtown redeveloped, and the south of downtown area not Midtown. OR please don't call that area SODO. But with a development like this Houston's downtown will flourish, and patience is a virtue.
