Have any of those broke ground? The 1810 Main would be good progress in that area.
Sadly don't see anything getting off the ground in the current environment - happy for what we got.

is this thing dead? sometimes I see like one worker - might need some HAIF'ers to come help hammer some nails.

Looks good but seems like they are late to the multi fam party.
also - the other Apartment down Grey seem to be stopped again.
seems like a very bad spot to stall construction - exposed wood for 6+ mos????

If you think my comments are outlandish, they were.
I urge you to go to page 1 of this thread - look at those two buildings - take into account the former owner of BB's take on the buildings - I rode my bike last night and had to laugh. The end result is so short sighted, in person you really get a sense of how small a parking lot it is.
I can't help but feel hatred for their stupid decision.
As I told them on Facebook - I started putting my out of town guests at the JW, Icon or Sam Houston and they are all very happy, they were all equally dismayed when we drove past the empty lot.
Cue Game of Thrones Shame Bell .

They told me on Facebook they would keep the trees - duck them! I'll walk naked through the Lancaster and put my member on the front desk if they do anything with this lot (worth a shit) in the next 24 months.

Commercial real estate services firm CBRE tallies more than 3.4 million square feet of office space sucked up by large moves of companies relocating to the city, those that encompass more than 10,000 square feet. Forty-five companies, including big-ticket employers like AT&T, Capitol One, Walgreens, Motorola and United, have relocated.

Not trying to kick a dead horse - but in Chicago companies are abandoning their suburban campuses fast as they can and they are moving Downtown. They can't get the young talent they need on a yearly basis or find themselves constantly losing top talent to companies headquartered in CBD or in the City.
Wonder if Exxon will regret the move North?
What could have been?
I do like that photo though.

see this is a perfect example of the people who were all mad about others (including me) being upset at the 507 and 509 Louisiana Buildings - there was something there - this was just old.
Wonder what it will be - this area is a changin - F A S T

I think since the redo - Pappas does good business and even is pretty full at night. With the new residents I see them only doing better.
Book store and storage - good riddance. I know a few O&G engineers that get books from that specialized store though I imagine they could just go online?

Haha - love the Paul Art Framing holdout

Hey - his name is Amir and he's there about all day and night recently - white suv - should be easy to spot this week as it seems they are really getting close to opening.
For or what it's worth he said a lot of things that impressed me about fitting in the neighborhood and how he isn't trying to force his vision on the place rather let the hood dictate what kind of place it becomes.
Best.
