Master Planned Community In Alvin

Interesting. It sounds like another Shadowcreek Ranch-size project. Here is a snippet from the article that stood out to me: "The agreement does designate the retail and commercial to center along Highway 288 west of Alvin, in its extra-territorial jurisdiction, Horn said." Since the homes are never far from their amenities, it looks like 288 is going to get even more crowded.

It does seem like it will be quite awhile before this project picks up steam, though.

Not really. It's not any further south than Spring or The Woodlands is north, or Katy is west. By way of the crow, it's actually closer.

True..but there's reason to go farther west than Katy or farther north than Woodlands. If you live in those locations, it would be easier for you to make those out of city treks.

There's not much south of Alvin. It'll be good for those who work in Lake Jackson/Freeport..but that's about it.

So what you're saying is that it's so close to the rural countryside of central Brazoria County that an out-of-city trek would be impossible?

And just as South Shore Harbor was a [sarcasm]dismal failure[/sarcasm] because it's tucked into a corner of the Houston area from which it's difficult to get out of the city, this one will be too...but not only will it not be on the 'right' side of town, it'll have [gasp] STRATEGIC AND EASY FREEWAY ACCESS! It's sure to fail, and when it becomes apparent, Satan shall rain down foreclosures and brimstone upon our region in protest of the atrociously bad business sense of these developers.
