Ideas of converting it into a pedestrian bridge never came to fruition because of a lack of available funding to make the conversion." Parts of the bridge may be salvaged for a monument to be placed on the grounds of the Brazoria Heritage Foundation.

    Nice article about the section of Almeda between Alabama and Brays Bayou and how it's been undergoing a transformation. Of course, they did get some things wrong, such as all of Almeda being part of FM 521. The only portions of Almeda that are part of FM 521 are south of OST. They also call 288 "U.S. 288".     The property, Sienna Plantation South, between the Brazos River and F.M. 521, is adjacent to the 10,500-acre Sienna Plantation development in Missouri City. It said it will set aside 300 acres for commercial use.     I bought a house in Shadow Creek Ranch. It's quite close to the FM 2234 and FM 521 intersection. I've been there numerous times but I haven't seen any trains pass by the railroad crossing in that area yet. Anyway, I'm somewhat concerned about train noises (whistles & track rumblings). Does anyone know how frequent does the train runs at night? Thanks.
