  1. I'm looking at TMC's website and I see only a handful of billable surface lots that remain. Looking back at historic photos of the medical center, these surface lots get developed into tall buildings. One day, the TMC "M" surface lot will house a building. Just depends when they run out of space and need to build something. Even a parking garage would be more beneficial than a surface lot. It would hold more cars.
  2. UMP is composed of two medical office buildings. Addresses are 7501 Fannin and 7505 Fannin. I always liked University Medical Plaza 1. Great addition to the southern part of the TMC. Wanted to add to our TMC database and include it. http://www.camproperties.net/properties.html https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/7501-Fannin-St-Houston-TX/21412321/

  4. Med Center Crowne Plaza to turn out lights Mary Ann Azevedo Houston Business Journal After more than three decades in operation, the Crowne Plaza Hotel Houston-Medical Center will close its doors next month. The closing comes on the heels of last month's purchase of the property -- located at 6701 Main St. -- by Baylor College of Medicine. The Crowne Plaza will permanently close its doors on Dec. 18, according to the hotel's Web site and Baylor officials. The property is one of three Main Street tracts that Baylor purchased from Houston-based The Redstone Cos. in a transaction that closed on Oct. 11, according to Baylor spokeswoman Lori Williams. The medical institution has also purchased a 74,000-square-foot tract that currently houses a Wells Fargo bank, as well as a 67,000-square-foot vacant tract across the street at Main and Southgate. Groundbreakings will take place between now and summer 2014 on the projects. “Fort Bend continues to grow in size and population and our patients are seeking an ever broader range of sophisticated medical and surgical treatments close to home,” said Dr. Marc L. Boom, Houston Methodist CEO. The expansion kicks off in November with groundbreaking on a 9,600-square-foot emergency care center on SH 6 in Missouri City between the Sienna Plantation and Riverstone communities. The facility is scheduled to open in summer 2014 and will house 10 treatment rooms and the latest technology in diagnostic imaging equipment. A new patient tower will be added between the Sweetwater Pavilion and Main Pavilion on the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital campus, adding 104 beds. The tower will add intensive care beds and medical-surgical beds with space remaining for future expansion. Groundbreaking will take place in the summer of 2014 with completion in 2016. The hospital is also building a facility for Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. The practice will move to a new 60,000-square-foot building on the corner of U.S. 59 and Sweetwater Boulevard.
  8. I wanted to create an appreciation thread for EYP. They've done a lot of work in the medical center and have recently designed HMH's Centennial Tower. I believe WHR Architects was merged with EYP as well. EYP has worked a lot with the Texas Medical Center AKA TMC. https://www.eypae.com/

  10. there has been a sign for over a year now off the north i-10 feeder past barker cypress for a new texas childrens hospital. has anyone heard anymore about this new development? and is interfin ever going to develop the land north of i-10 at grand parkway because that was where the 'new' galleria was supposed to be built. I think they are in impending lawsuits with katy mills mall, but I am not too sure.
  11. Surprised I couldn't find a thread about this specific campus - it has grown pretty quickly in the past few years. The campus opened in 2010 as the UTMB Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center. It was rebranded to the current name in 2015. MD Anderson opened an outpatient hospital and treatment center in a connected building that was completed in 2018. A separate medical office building, 7-story garage and skybridge that connect to the hospital were completed in 2018 as well. A 5-story patient tower was completed in 2020. It has been engineered for expansion up to 12 stories in the future.
  12. Noticed this completed development on Medistar's website. https://medistarcorp.com/completed/ Completed in 2010, Medistar developed St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital and Medical Plaza as a five-story, 220,000 square foot hospital. The hospital is complemented by a five-story, 125,000 square foot medical office building featuring a linear accelerator to support MD Anderson Cancer Center, a major tenant in the MOB.
  13. Methodist plans hospital on west side Completion of 192-bed facility expected in 2010 By LYNN COOK Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle The Methodist Hospital System will spend $300 million to build a 192-bed hospital in west Houston, hospital executives announced Friday. The hospital, with an emergency room, open-heart surgery capability and cancer treatment areas, will be on the north side of the Katy Freeway just west of Barker Cypress, Methodist president and CEO Ron Girotto said in a statement. Construction is scheduled to start early next year, with completion by 2010. The Methodist hospital site is directly next door to a 55-acre tract where construction will begin on Texas Children's Hospital West in 2008. That $220 million pediatric project is expected to be complete in 2010 as well. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/5290481.html
  14. The Texas Children's Hospital Meyer Building was named after Leopold L. Meyer. Noticed a small office remodel this week for 1919 South Braeswood Blvd.
  15. Somewhat confused. There are a couple of FAA filings. One is for an '80, 4-story MOB Archive Search Results Form 7460-1 for ASN 2021-ASW-5631-OE (faa.gov) Another is for a structure, not noted as a garage nor crane tied to the same project and timeline but '152 Proposed Case for TX: 2021-ASW-6823-OE (faa.gov) Hadn't seen a mention of a new MOB at the Greater Heights campus from anything previously. Timeline appears to be December of this year to January 2023 in either case. Based on the maps, it looks like it should be on the west side of the complex.

The hospital plans to create a new six-story medical office adjacent to the hospital. The 150,000-square-foot facility will provide space for physicians, orthopedics and sports medicine. 19. There has been so many discussions on various buildings going up that I find it difficult to remember to know if we covered them all. During my runs, I noticed that they knocked down the old Miller Beer wherehouse next too "Bridal mart" or whatever it's called on 59S @ 610. Any news as far as this goes? Also there is a substantial project going on at Fannin and Greenbriar (I think) Right near the dome where Fannin and the other street splits. Did we cover those two items in the past or does anyone have the skinny on the construction? Ricco
