I heard rumors of a residential building planned for block 387. I finally saw something that gave that rumor some credence although I don't have anything substantial - this should be taken with a grain of salt. Soil samples.

http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/20224122/500-600-Blocks-of-West-19th-20th-Houston-TX/ Ohhhh the potential for that block! I have always wondered what in the world Chase was thinking holding on to that giant retail drive through and oversized bank building in the age of the internet.

This won't be of much interest to most since it is pretty secluded in a fairly suburban area, albeit a dense one. A formal complaint was already submitted in the latest planning agenda.

For those of you who have crossed Buffalo Bayou at the Beltway lately, you have probably noticed two giant spoils (dirt) piles on the east side north of the bayou. Has anyone heard any details about what is going on here. From what I have gathered so far the plan is for a six-story residential development named Ascension on the Bayou. The builder is Rampart Construction. Here is where it gets interesting. I am pretty sure most of the lot is directly in the flood plain especially now given how much they have cut into the side of the embankment. On top of that it looks like the location was onc

Per the chron.com site, Hines has purchsed the Cafe Adobe site on Westheimer. I am assuming this also includes the surface lot across the street. To me, this site is too small for the typical 4-5 story apartment complex wrapped around structured parking. Could Hines be going vertical with an apartment high rise? http://blog.chron.co...eimer-property/

Hope this isn't a dupe topic. Not sure if it is. M-M Properties was in the news just a little while ago about buying a downtown office building, but I don't remember us talking about this yet. Read more: Kenneth Moczulski buys tract for new apartments | Houston Business Journal

I previously posted a query about this on the Kaplan's Ben Hur thread when I saw that the old building was being demo'd. A representative of Allied Realty Services has reported the following to the Houston Heights Association Land Use Chair: 195 apartments. (on two acres) 4 stories of apartments, 1-1/2 stories of parking underneath No renderings available at this time. They may make a presentation to the Land Use Committee in October. Allied is working with the association of homeowners who are on the north side of W 22nd

Genesis Park Located on a 16.4 acre tract of land near downtown, this high density, mixed use development achieves 60 DU/AC and was designed to become a statement for urban Houston with its efficient use of land and higher density. When complete, the multi-phase development will feauture four, four-story wood frame residential/office buildings, two museums and potentially a landmark building and fountain at the corner of the property.
