  1. Great guy who's had Texas Junk for years. Used to have all sorts of memorabilia but mostly carries vintage cowboy boots now. Only open on Fridays & Saturdays. Channel 13 usually does a story on him around rodeo. Thanks for the head's up on the Liberty Hall t-shirts. Got mine today along with a Houston Blue's Society T with Lightin Hopkins on the front. Made my day!
  2. The Chronicle has several radio spots from the 60s on their website that really show where they were coming from half a century ago! http://blog.chron.com/bayoucityhistory/2012/10/the-sounds-of-the-houston-chronicle/
  3. On Chelsea off Montrose South of US59. A cool club that featured local singer/songerwriters, featured great acts like Townes Van Zandt and a lot of fun.

  5. Anyone know what address Corll lived at on Columbia Street? A friend said it was by 9th, but I've never found an actual address for the apartments.
  6. It's says 1954, they year KTRK signed on.
  7. Anybody notice the ad on the back of the Chronicle's 29-95 section last Thursday? I was surprised to see the F*ck Buttons listed (without the asterisk). Seems odd that broadcast stations can get whopping fines for dropping the f-bomb, but it's ok for newspapers to print it or allow it in an ad? And on the back of a section that's often kept for reference, to boot!
  8. Seens 007 & 008 have terrible service...sometimes we don't get our mail until 6pm or later!
  9. Fedex dropped it off in Houston on 9/21 and USPS has no idea where it is and cannot track it. So it goes. I'm off to spend/waste more time cancelling the order & credit card. BTW, the original order was placed on 9/15.
  10. Anybody else having service issues with mail delivery in the Heights? My mail is chronically delivered to neighbors and a package I ordered weeks ago is no where to be found. God only knows what else I'm missing. I've gotten other people's mail and have written "not at this address" on the outside of the envelope and our USPS person puts it back in my mailbox! Complaints about delivery issues have been file. If it was an occasional issue, it wouldn't be so annoying.
