    Queens BBQ caught fire this evening. I'm hearing it was relatively minor but lots of potential smoke damage.

    An employee of the GC had the gate open as I was driving by. They confirmed the project is stalled, but didn't mention the issue. Construction will be moving forward when it's resolved.

    Recent Google reviews of The Garden in Midtown would point to closure. I saw someone installing what looked like a barricade to the parking lot last weekend, but haven't been in the area to confirm what it was.

    I wonder what's going on with this project. They were making good progress, then all of a sudden nothing. I have noticed a car has been parked on the property at times, which I'm assuming is hired security. Hopefully that's a positive sign.

    Demo day. Just happened to be walking by as the entire house came down. Time between these pictures is less than a minute.

    I don't see McDonald's abandoning this location. Perhaps they are tearing it down and building another of the fully automated stores like the one outside Fort Worth. I hope this guy approves.

    Is this a recent thing? I was inside a few years ago and a homeless gentleman gave the option to choose from a menu item or the raw steaks he was holding. 😆

    This is a really big deal. That block has been undeveloped with a dilapidated building on it for two decades. This will also bring a grocery store closer to midtown, which is badly needed. I've never been to this grocer, but looking forward to checking it out next year.

    It was mainly related to the roof system being an enclosure and the trucks using propane (fire hazard). This set-up doesn't look like it would have any issues.

    Really impressed with this park. They've utilized the space well and I feel it will grow into an asset for this section of downtown.

    La Calle utilizes the sidewalk as patio space, so I would guess this concept will do the same. And I'm all for more restaurants offering street-front seating.

    The fence has been taken down.

    They've been using the fence as a crowd control and privacy screen. Not sure that it's related to construction.

    Bicyclists' message to automobile drivers is "share the road." So it seems kind of entitled to demand full rights to a hike and bike trail. I would rather shout "on your left" to a walker than deal with cars and delivery vehicles parked in a bike lane. Bikes and pedestrians should be teaming up in most cases.

    The astrodome could be a hotel, multiple restaurants, parking garage, indoor park, AND beer hall with room to spare. And any renovations would pay for themselves within a decade.
