bruno
Finally with the 2003 IRC some cities are asking for Architect or Certified designers Seals. The 2000 and 2003 IRC says that a register person must provide the plans. I know the Woodlands starting in 2008 you will need a certified designers seal or Architect seal to do work and other communites and city are going tofollow. Its about time something gets done because any one with a computer and software can design homes in Texas.
texas911
Thank god! What are certified designers?
gwilson
This sucks for some though.THere are some very talented designers out there that are not architects. It is a shame they have to suffer because of the unscrupulous acts of others.
texas911
If they're talented, then get certified.

I see your point though.BTW, what software do designers and architects normally use? Autocad?
texas911
AutoCadd is the standard. But I've seen some great uses of Sketch Up. Man I wish I had Sketch Up when I was in school.
