VicMan
You may want to see Richard Geib's website:http://www.rjgeib.com/biography/inner-city...s/innerblu.htmlThe content of the website reveals why many English learners do not graduate from high school; it has to do with the social environment the kids live in.In addition, it may be better to let some of the kids go; some of the kids in school feel like virtual prisoners and are not willing to learn; keeping them in school would be a complete waste of time. However, keep education open to them when they are willing to learn. Also, allow vocational education for kids who like to learn how to tinker with machines. VicMan
I like the offering of the Newcomer School for kids who have to work, as well as the vocational programs offered. If only more people knew about the alternative education options...I have a friend who transferred out of my school to Yates; she has a baby that is about 1 year old. I heard from some people that she may not be in school anymore; this is troubling news for me!
