UP will probably complain about 1) the cost and 2) the fact that trains will have to slow down significantly as they take the proposed curves.Considering the amount of freight traffic that this line already gets (much less the added rail traffic from the proposed commuter line) and the increasing property values in this area, it seems like this would be a good candidate for double-tracking and grade-separating, preferably by way of trenching.
