Trae
Why can't all of Houston freeway's look like the Hardy Tollway. Have any of you ever been on this thing? It is a complete forested freeway until just inside the Beltway. Can we ever get Houston freeways to look like this?

But it is an exception to the rule. Existing freeways will never look like this. The new section of US 90 will run through Herman Brown Park, so it'll have a pretty sizable section like this, but not the whole thing. DaTrain
At least they plantin trees on the Southwest Freeway between the main lanes and the frontage roads right outside the West Loop. Too bad trees take 25 years to grow.
Trae
Though, this one especially looks like something out of DC Freeways: it is kind of funny though. While you are on this forested section of freeway, a few miles over on IH-45, there are crack motels and strip clubs lining the freeway. Houston1stWordOnTheMoon
The reason Hardy looks like this is because theres no development.
Trae
And I hope it stays like that. Imagine no feeders in Houston. IH-45 North, parts of IH-10 West, and US 59 North would probably look like the Hardy.

Trae
Not sure about empty with vehicles, it would still be jammed, but they would be lined with trees.

plumber2
Dem is fightin' words on this board! There are feeder streets on all Texas freeways by law because of Texas politics back in the LBJ days mandated that all US funded road projects have them. I think this has been changed up just recently, becuase now TxDOT is rebuilding 1-10 without feeders beyond Katy.
Guest Plastic
The Hardy TollROAD is too small up around Spring. It has no feeder.I wonder why no businesses have popped up along it. There's just one Texaco. Hope the Westpark spuns businesses.ANd by the way...............why is it The Hardy Toll Road?
DaTrain
The Hardy TollROAD is too small up around Spring. It has no feeder. So be it. Hardy's traffic is better off this way than the North Freeway cuz it is light.I wonder why no businesses have popped up along it. There's just one Texaco. Hope the Westpark spuns businesses. You're just asking for trouble. We're not gonna clutter the landscrape of HTR so U can get a bite to eat and fill your tank just when you want. Ever wonder why there are hardly any tall logo signs on Beltway 8 at all? Cuz it is scenic.ANd by the way...............why is it The Hardy Toll Road?Nobody cares, Plastic.
