TheNiche
http://www.lastrefuge.co.uk/images/html/storms/tornadic-storms/images/AW_Storms_USA28.jpgAbout how often does Houston or the coast of Texas get storms, rain and tornados throughout the year. Seems like I hear about a tornado actually hitting something about once per year, but ours aren't typically the kinds of monsters that wipe out whole neighborhoods in a matter of minutes. Storms come through frequently. In the six years I've been here, I can recall at least one month where it rained pretty much non-stop, but also quite a few months where it hasn't rained at all. The powerful storms are usually associated with fronts moving from west to east, while the showers seem to traverse the coast or move inland from the Gulf. If you want a good statistical comparison of Houston's weather to Texas or the Nation, search for it on city-data.com.
