There is ongoing work in Katy to develop the elements of a master plan that would see a 3-5 mile trail system linking the new Leyendecker Landing park with VFW & Thomas Parks which would stretch from 1st street to Pitts Road. Phase 1 of the feasibility study was approved several weeks ago.

Also included are work to convert the Fussell Home on Franz Road into the 3B Nature Center - a facility to educate on nature and the environment, as well as develop and maintain a bee colony. Increased funding for this project has recently been approved as renovation costs were higher than expected.

Work on the existing Parks & Rec Maintenance Staff building or new construction of a replacement has also been discussed.

Here is a graphic from Community Impact papers from last May.
