ChannelTwoNews
Village Crossing is the name of the development along a stretch of the Southwest Freeway, just east of FM 2218 / B.F. Terry Blvd. and immediately west of the Silver Eagle Distributors facility. To date, the sole structure built has been a Cavender's Boot City which opened in 2021. Additional road infrastructure has been constructed here - most notably the extension of Airport Avenue, which had been a point of discussion locally for years - and also was completed in 2021. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/Highway-59-FM-2218-Rosenberg-TX/17009649/
Pleak
Didn't know it had an official name. The owner has been trying to get it developed for about 20 years. He went in and spent a lot of money planting oak trees along the feeder and putting up a tall brick and iron fence around the whole property about 15 years ago. It all fell to ruin and when the freeway was expanded - all got torn up. The plot of land to the right (north) of Cavender's has a fence all around it and a sign that a Mexican restaurant is coming. "something Marisco" - can't remember exactly when I drove by.

They're owned by the group that owns Los Cucos. Was wondering if that might actually mean a return of that restaurant to town in time. Pleak
That would definitely be a better location for a restaurant than where the old Los Cucos was. That is one of those restaurant sites that has been thru so many different places and none have stuck.

I agree it's certainly a better location than the old one in town was. It could fill the gap for their presence southwest of Houston, since the one in Wharton on the river burned down around Christmas last year and the next closest one is in El Campo. All hypothetical of course.

The other area being cleared is the one on the map that's highlighted in orange that looked to be targeted for use by a grocer.
